Burning Hands has a cone shape, yes.

Here's to hoping the orcs don't have Evasion.

Anyway, how's it coming, USEC? Just waiting on you now :P
I guess if Dain posts his turn now as well, we could speed things up a notch.

Initiative Order:
Nil Govosduthur
Lothinenn
Redoran
Valour
Steven Seagal

Dain Sagedirk
Gnomes
Orcs
Asbjorn

Hop past Nil so he's not in the way, and burn the orcs.

Steven hops over the barricade and gets into position to roast some orcs. (3) Fail! 9 damage to O2! (20!) Critical Success! 5 damage to O3! I swear that I'm not rigging things. Anyways, the blast of fire burns the orcs pretty horribly. However both of them are still on their feet, but probably for not much longer.

Dain's turn comes around!

Hmm... I'll try to pull the gnome out of the line of fire to M6

Dain Sagedirk
Gnomes
Orcs

Asbjorn

STR: 6 + 5 Dain runs forward to pull his wounded ally out of the line of fire. However the gnome is heavier than he looks and Dain can't really move him. Whoops.

Quote from: Gnome
I'm not an idiot.

Not that it really matters in the grand scheme of things. The gnome does have a brain between his ears, and heads for the alcove after firing his crossbow one last time. (16 + 4) Hit! 7 damage to O3! Despite being heavily wounded his aim is still good and his bolt whizzes past Steven's ear to slam into the nearest orc.

Quote from: Orcs
Run away!

Realizing that they're hopelessly outclassed, the remaining orcs turn tail and run away. They don't get very far however. After moving several feet, both of the orcs collapse dead.

The orcish assault has been fought off! Everyone gains 30 exp!

As the battle ends, the tunnel becomes deathly quiet. In the distance you can hear a few muted war cries, but other than that everything seems calm. The remaining gnome sighs wearily and leans against the wall of the tunnel for support as he eyes the seven of you. Eventually he says in Common, "Thanks for the help."

And before you ask, 30 exp each is considered the ideal amount of exp for your level by the guidelines. So 9 more fights like that, and you'll level up in no time! Also, if you're wondering why orcs are worth so much, well... They're the classic D&D bullshit level 1 enemies who can 1-shot anybody. With various degrees of likelihood of course, but a lucky hit in melee could take anybody out of the fight. Yay.

Also, I guess that now would be the time to introduce yourselves and get with the chatting thing. Just a thought.

"Get yer arse over 'ere gnome. Your comrade is in Valhalla, but I can at least patch ye up."

Cast cure wounds on gnome and the person with the lowest HP total for my two domain casts of the day

I'm pretty sure NO ONE took damage except the gnomes. Could be wrong though.

"I am Steven, acolyte of Azuth."

Steven will check the dead orcs for any valuables.
