((Ok, I keep forgetting and remembering stuff so ignore every other post but this: ))

First, yell at the gnome to come here so I can heal him.

Second, introductions

Third, a few words to the gnome's passing

Lastly, look for hidden openings

Jee wilikers, I think Highmax is near invulnerable, must have been dunked in the river styx like achilles was.
Just make sure he wears a boot.

"Glad to help, I am Lothinenn and sorry that we could not save your comrade."
I search the area, rifle through the orcs' pockets, and peek down the tunnel at 7.

Retreve my Axe, and see if any Orks had a crossbow.

((The dead gnome had one))

"I am Nil Govosduthur, Sargent of the Rammedrockian Guard, or atleast I was before they took it... Anyhow, glad to assist a fellow soldier in a time of need."

"Asabjorn, Cleric of Thor and giant hunter, at your service."

Dain, aspiring spellsword of the Sagedirk clan

"I am Steven, acolyte of Azuth."

"Glad to help, I am Lothinenn and sorry that we could not save your comrade."

"I'm Xanroar Soldshort, warrior. I don't know or care why you're here, but thanks for the help. Without it I would have joined by companion here..."

Steven will check the dead orcs for any valuables.

I search the area, rifle through the orcs' pockets, and peek down the tunnel at 7.

Together Steven and Lothinenn search the bodies of the orcs, finding 11 crude silver pieces. They also have steel waraxes, shortbows and quivers of arrows, one of each for each orc. The quality of the arms is a bit suspect, but they should fetch a good price when sold to a weaponsmith. The orcs were also wearing leather armour and carried a few personal items, but they are either too tattered or damaged to be worth selling.

Peek down the tunnel at 7.

The tunnel continues further, until it is swallowed up in darkness so it's impossible to tell how far it lead. However you don't see anything interesting or noteworthy in the section of tunnel you can see.

Retreve my Axe, and see if any Orks had a crossbow.

The orcs didn't have crossbows on them, and Xanroar makes it perfectly clear that if you took the one off of his dead comrade he'll report you for stealing.

First, yell at the gnome to come here so I can heal him.

You heal Xanroar with divine magic, and he's quickly back on his feet, thanking you profusely.

Lastly, look for hidden openings

You find no hidden openings of any kind.

tend to the dead? gnome

Third, a few words to the gnome's passing

Xanroar comments that they have their own priests, and that the spirit of his fallen comrade would be happier if they carried the body to Pingtu, a cleric of Segojan
Earthcaller. "Pingtu will likely be by the Singing Stones, in a cavern east of here. If you could carry the body there I would be grateful, since I can't just leave my post. Especially not after an attack." He draws a crude map for you to follow, and recommends that you visit Burrow Warden Kargien afterwards. He's the gnome in charge of this settlement and might need everyone's help to reclaim the House Center.

"Will do. May friends ever fight by your side."
Look about for parts to make a stretcher to carry the body one, then throw one together for ease of transport.

Grab the silver coins, and offer the weapons to Lothinenn.

"Thank you, but I have no need of these crude orcish weapons, if any among us lack a ranged weapon yet they should take one of the shortbows."
"We should certainly bring the body of the fallen to a gnomish priest, the support and goodwill of the gnomes is essential to our success."

Dain grabs one of the shortbows and a decent quiver, then helps with the deathcart making/putting gnomes on deathcarts.

Look about for parts to make a stretcher to carry the body one, then throw one together for ease of transport.

It's pretty easy to construct a stretcher out of spare building materials for the barricade, and the tattered clothes that the orcs were wearing. Admittedly it's not the best stretcher in the world, but it'll do.

Grab the silver coins, and offer the weapons to Lothinenn.

Dain grabs one of the shortbows and a decent quiver, then helps with the deathcart making/putting gnomes on deathcarts.

seeing that noone wanted the axe i go grab both of them

The rest of the party gets to looting the bodies.

What now?

I guess it's time to head off to this gnome questgiver Earthcaller. Maybe they can tell us where to go next to advance the plot about the town's predicament.

Steven will follow the others, doing his best to look important.

Ask for assistance in loading the body, then asking the gnome if there is any particular location that it should be placed in.

Assist in the way my previous action should have indicated
