Yeah, I think we should skip people if they're not prompt in responding to their turn. Though whether someone else directs the character or they just stand there like a stunned mullet might be up for debate.

I'm going to bed soon, for example, so if I'm not online again before my turn:
Steven will move to a position where he can cast Burning Hands to hit as many orcs as possible, and as few PCs as possible.
I don't really care if gnomes get burnt. Normally I'd be all for it, but I don't know how our guide will feel about his kinsmen being incinerated. Still, the more charred corpses the merrier.

Edit: I think I'm falling into this Evil role a bit too easily.

Hard science is like a sword, and soft science is like fear. You can use both to equally powerful results, but even if your opponent disbelieve your stabs, they will still die.

Yeah I think we can find a decent medium between having everyone take their turns one by one for every round and having everyone go at once. Sensei already stated what he intended to do with Redoran in his first post and it's not like anything big has changed since then to influence his decision.

I shall take 1, move forward 35 feet, and loose an arrow at the foul orcs! That being Orc 4, or whichever one I can shoot at without hitting a gnome.
I think that puts me right behind Lithare or Rakonas, or whoever's Lth. I don't really care about specifics much as long as i can shoot an orc, and I don't really want to be stating my exact square every time I move unless we have a coordinate system or something.

Besides, with its simplified AoO and Sneak Attack rules, 5e should be much more germane to playing without a board that 3.5 or 4e. I wouldn't care too much if we dropped the board for simplicity's sake.

Initiative Order:
Nil Govosduthur
Lothinenn
Redoran
Valour
Steven Seagal

Dain Sagedirk
Gnomes
Orcs
Asbjorn

I shall take 1, move forward 35 feet, and loose an arrow at the foul orcs! That being Orc 4, or whichever one I can shoot at without hitting a gnome.

Redoran shows Lothinenn how it's done by rushing forward while firing off an arrow at the lead orc. (18 + 6) Hit! 9 damage! He manages to hit the orc dead in its eye, but strangely enough it doesn't seem to notice the wound at all.

move 6 squares left

Valour decides not to try his luck with the javelin, or dash for double movement and so just ends his turn behind Redoran for now.

Steven will move to a position where he can cast Burning Hands to hit as many orcs as possible, and as few PCs as possible.

Steven moves forward to the best spot to burn a bunch of orcs. Namely between the gnomish fighters and right on the front lines. And if he doesn't like that, too bad, you should have been more specific.

Dain Sagedirk is up next!

I don't really want to be stating my exact square every time I move unless we have a coordinate system or something.

Boards are hard without letting others use them...

I'm sorry, but if you can't do relative coordinates (3 north, 4 east, etc.) then I'm afraid that I'm contractually obliged to laugh at you. Sorry. But if you want actual coordinates then I can easily add that in.

Damn that orc has taken 17 damage? I'm actually a bit afraid we'll lose the gnomes now.
I suppose coordinates would be nice unless they take a long time to do.

I recommend we just have them do the least risky, logical default action. EG attack the nearest enemy with your basic attack/cantrip, follow the rest of the party, etc.

Oh, also, you moved me 40 feet... Mister why-can't-you-handle-coordinates. :P (not that that's a big deal)

Really? I think you might actually want to change your character sheet:

Lawful Evil

I hate conflict, and will try to avoid
fights and arguments.
That actually sounds kind of cool, you'd be a manipulative sort who would rather connive than fight. If you want to keep acting like you are though, you might as well go back and change that to "Chaotic Evil, sadistic and likes killing everything".

I have a really terrible short-term memory, by the way. But yeah. I'll try to follow the original idea.

Dain quickly switches up to his shield and handaxe, strapping his glaive to his back, after which he dashes towards the enemy, running out of breath beside Nil.

((this is assuming diagonal squares still just count as 5 feet? If not I suppose I'll be right next to Redoran.))
