Use the comms. "So, what are you up to, crew?"

((By the way, shouldn't my swithing of clothes a couple turns back have removed the status effect for a dirty shirt? And Samarkand, you might want to bring up IC how much you need alcohol, so I could give you the Scotch technically without metagaming.))
((Don't worry, I'll mention when I run out again. For now I have wine, and I'm making more wine and mead. :-) ))

Examine pool and find glasses.

Try again with the same tools and other tools if I need to. Be careful about it, seeing as this is a GREAT opportunity to get myself injured.

Hmm. What does the lab have in the way of medical supplies. Anything? Anything cutting-edge?

Roll 16 - Interruption

Haul him up.
"What happened?"

[3] You position yourself over the edge, unwary of the fact that the floor is unstable. As you pull Vex up and make sure not to cut him on the sharp edges of the floor grating, the floor shudders a little bit, almost sending you down into the water as well. Luckily, you maintain your footing--if barely--and back far away from the edge after you're done.

take somebody that i dont know the name of's hand and climb out.

[1] After Philbert helps you out, you notice something brushing against your foot as you walk around. Lacking glasses, you crouch down close to the ground and examine your foot. There is a big leech hanging off! Where did that come from?

Examine pool and find glasses.

You stand back, looking just over the edge of the floor without getting too close. You know that the floor is unstable after Hilbert nearly lost his balance, so you avoid putting too much force on the ground.

[3] The water is somewhat murky, but is clear enough to see the bottom through once the current settles down. You spot a toolbox at the bottom of the pool (though Vex is still carrying his). You also see some... movement in the pool. You catch a glimpse of something shiny in the water, moving around slowly.

Try again with the same tools and other tools if I need to. Be careful about it, seeing as this is a GREAT opportunity to get myself injured.

[5] You try again. This time, the hook gives out immediately, probably due to fatigue. Either way, you have a hook now! A few strips of duct-tape later and you have a hook on a stick!

Hmm. What does the lab have in the way of medical supplies. Anything? Anything cutting-edge?

[4] Indeed, if in the definition of 'cutting edge' you include an area where you can may be able to create and test vaccines. There are no automated tools like that 'DNA inserter' from before, but there are observation tools and microbe incubators that should let you do that. There are even cages for test animals in a far corner of the area, although you're not sure where you're supposed to get animals from...

Miniquest Complete: Photographic Memory

However, there is a door you haven't entered yet. You investigate, and enter a very dark area with several large, humming machines. There are LED's lit up everywhere in the room, which is about twenty meters long and five across. Most are constant green lights--but some are flashing red. You come closer, and step on some glass with your shoes as you get close.

Use the comms. "So, what are you up to, crew?"

As you play around with the dials and switches, taking a sip from the scotch every now and then, you hear a beeping noise, and then a voice coming from the direction of one of the monitors.

*crackle*
"This is Alexander Highmount of the Chelupa Union. Your ship belongs to us now. Stand down when we board and no harm will come to you."

Uh oh. Sounds like a good time to get that Systems panel running... please?

Ugh, fine. Get that panel up. Check the panel if we have any weapons.

To internal comms: "Whoever wanted to pilot the ship, come to the bridge, now. We've got trouble."

To the Chelupans: "I am Harry Shine, the acting captain of this independent colony ship, the Anaxagoras. We have 10000 civilians on board, do not shoot. I will not allow you to board before you state your intentions."

Grab toolbox, search quickly for glasses, and get out of the water.

((If you can hang from the tips of your feet, then sure, but you need some help getting out.))

"I am Harry Shine, the acting captain of this independent colony ship, the Anaxagoras. We have 10000 civilians on board, do not shoot. I will not allow you to board before you state your intentions."

You hear other voices over the comms. It's almost unintelligible. ((But nobody can keep a secret from the almighty janitor!))

Voice 1: Well? What do we say?
Voice 2: It's not like we can do much with the ship... first civvies in five systems.
Voice 3: I say we take their supplies and leave. If they're not traders they won't have much else. Doesn't look like a hauler.
Voice 1: I'm inclined to agree. If they got 10,000 people on board, they probably got plenty of extras.
Voice 3: We can keep both our hands and our conscience clean.
Speaker: Roger...

"This is Alexander Highmount. We are only looking for supplies. If you leave 20 tons of supplies in your hanger, we will take it and be on our way."
