Alec's smirk wiped off his face when Ciera mentioned being less 'open' than the others.
: "...You're right about that." The bard sighed, "Old habits die hard, really."
His eyes seemed to glaze over for a moment, before apparently snapping himself out of it.
: "Er, but enough of that. I take it the wedding earlier was pretty festive, if those two were the couple, huh? Shame, I could've come up with a song to play for it if I just had a bit of a heads up."

Leo met Sheila's eyes and nodded.

"Even that. We should speak to everyone and see if we can spare the money for it."

"We have plenty. And this is something we need. We may as well get it now."

[Swordstar]

"No, I didn't mean... I'm sorry. I don't mind, really. I just..."

She sighed and went back to staring at her boots. Why had she had to say that. She was just screwing everything up here it seemed.

"Yeah, the wedding was nice. A bit simple, but we were in the middle of nowhere, so that's to be expected I guess. Sheila was excited though. It was nice to see her so happy."

Leo thought about it.

"Ciera at least will back us up if anyone objects. Let's get it."

"Great!" Sheila turned to address the shopkeeper. "Hey, we want to buy this one and one of the heal staffs."

Grifen chose to stick with Julius. Something important seemed to be happening, after all, and some questions needed to be asked.

: "So I've been thinkin'. If we're both descended from some long-ago king, that means we're related, right?"

"I suppose so, yes. Though presumably quite distantly. What's on your mind?"

[Sirus]

: "Wellll....that means we're family! Which means ya gotta come to Masalla sometime and visit my folks' place. They'd treat ya right, iffen ya don't mind it being sorta rustic."

Miguel stood nearby where Fezz stood in the bar. The information that Kretos had inflicted in him a mixed reaction. On one hand, Garaz's bitter rival to south had once more been put into it's place. On the other, Yonn was a damn good man. If were not for his aid, they might not have gotten this far. Well. At least this meant his daughter was going to making an absolute fortune in selling petty trinkets here soon.

If his own experience was any indicator, happy soldiers made for happy merchants. Victory means coin, and coin means expendable income. Expendable income meant pretty baubles for wives and lovers. Aye. She was going to be rolling in gold here soon.

[Furtuka]

"Hah! Well who can say no to that face?"

"I'd be glad to Grifen. If they'll have me. I'm sure that it'd be lovely. Compared to some roofs I've slept under, I doubt any sort of rustic-ness will be a problem."

[Sirus]

: "Great! I'm sure they'd be glad to have ya." There was a pause, and the nomad sobered up a little.

: "So this whole royalty thing...what's yer take on it? What do ya plan to do? I know we ain't exactly had a chance to talk about it before now."

[Furtuka]

"Might be nice, being part of a family again..."

"Do you mean what are we going to do now, or are you referring to when this is all sorted out?"

[Sirus]

: "What I mean is...when ya found out that yer the heir of some long-ago king, how'd that make ya feel? And let's just say that we somehow manage to stop this crazy war goin' on, and when that happens the Emperor ain't in charge anymore. What're ya thinkin' of doin' next?"

Leo put his arm around Sheila's waist as they waited for the shopkeeper to tally the purchases. Being able to be as affectionate with her as he wanted was like a great burden being removed from his shoulders, and he was enjoying being quietly close to her in public without having to pretend he felt nothing more for her than friendship.

: "Heh, well it probably suits them, f'ya ask me. Pirate and a humble preist..." Alec shook his head as he looked over the sheet music, "We'll need every bit of good times we can get before the storm rolls in. Once we find this note-sender, things are going to be on the fast track for a while again."
