"My two friends have a totally not-shady business dealing with less savory types of adventurers. You go behind the apothecary and knock on the door with red splotch of paint on it, and then you say you're one of Turis customers."

: "...Oh, well I- uh, didn't exactly-"
Alec stood with his mouth agape for a couple seconds before scratching his head.
: "Er- It's not something that's come up, really. I mean, it's not impossible to see myself doing that it's just... Not... something I usually think about nowadays. What with the war and the fighting and the-..."
: "Or, put it this way! I don't want to go into that knowing that the world isn't safe for my betrothed! _{Yeah, that's right...}"

"... Yeah. Yeah, that's what I figured. Ok. I uhm... I'm going to go check on Mazin."

Quickly turning and heading away from the bard, Ciera shook her head.

Stupid. That was stupid. You barely told him how you feel, and yeah he feels the same, but it's not like he's overly open about it. And then you just get swept up in the whole wedding thing and ask him that? Stupid. Stupid, stupid stupid.

:"Right! I'll go conduct some Legitimate Business then."
And she followed the man's instructions, heading down to the place he mentioned.

: "What I mean is...when ya found out that yer the heir of some long-ago king, how'd that make ya feel? And let's just say that we somehow manage to stop this crazy war goin' on, and when that happens the Emperor ain't in charge anymore. What're ya thinkin' of doin' next?"

"Well I was shocked at first as you can probably imagine. But afterwards, when the ghost gave Fezz and I his blessing, well to be honest... I guess you could say it felt... liberating?

"I know that sounds strange but... after you might recall that I... haven't been in the best state lately. ...since Kretos I mean. After what happened in the cave -with Matilda... my faith in the rebellion had been shaken, and I realized how selfish I had been. I'd latched on too quickly as a way to reach my goals, and blinded myself to its problems and wound up making trouble for everyone else. I still need to make an apology for that. To you and all the others."

"So that's why, when we met Troy Lionheart, to me it was like a second chance! I could use this opportunity to follow my own path to becoming a hero, following my own ideals, and truly redeem myself. Both for my old failures, and the mistakes I'd made during this war. I'll bring order out of chaos and and fix this war torn land, just like my- our ancestor did."

"Oh actually that line sounded pretty good. I should write that down."

Julius pulled out his notebook and jotted down a note on it before continuing.

"As for what comes next however... well to be honest, I'm not sure yet. Not that I haven't thought about it, but there's a lot to consider. However I suppose the first thing that shall have to be done is make amends and repair the damage caused by the war. After that though? Enact reforms, try to make things better so that we never end up in this situation again. Maybe considering some of the those structural changes that our ancestor suggested. In the end, we'll have to wait and see what is possible. None of us were raised for this, and so like Troy said, the counsel of wiser men and women will be needed. Until then however, there's a lot of time to consider the future."

Grifen looked bemused when Julius pulled out a notebook to scribble down what he had just said, but she remained silent until he had finished.

: "Yeah...no offense, but fer a while there I kinda thought y'were losin' it. Before the cave, I mean. We were startin' to get worried."

: "But ever since the cave you've been doin' much better! You've definitely grown stronger, the way ya wanted to be when we argued a few months back. Maybe yer not cut out to be the ruler of the whole world just yet, but then again I'm not sure anyone is. Maybe some sort of 'reform' is the right way to go after all, I dunno. We should talk to that Fyra woman and our friends to figger out what to do."

[Furtuka]

"Yes... hopefully they'll be able to aid us in finding the right way to go about this. And thank you. I'm very glad to hear you think that."

Eventually, Miguel left the bar and went a wandering the festive streets. Seems the recent developments had given him just a bit more to think about.

The bard's hand fell from scratching his head to his side.

He sighed and turned to walk down the road, away from the trinket stand. When he was sure he was out of earshot of anyone nearby, he muttered frustratedly to himself.

: "Keep what up?" Miguel kindly asked the bard, as he took a bite out of his apple. Where he had come from, nobody knows.

Leo took Sheila's hand and left the store.

"Where would you like to go? Maybe we could look at rings...?"

He didn't really need one to prove his love, but he thought she might enjoy the trip.

: "Wh-?!"
Alec easily jumped three feet when Miguel suddenly appeared in his peripheral vision.
: "Oh... heh. It's you, old-timer. Way to cut a year off my lifespan."
: "N-nothing that really concerns anyone else. It's just... er, the war, right? How long I'd need to keep up with all the politics and everything, yeah. Real tiring stuff."

Sheila laughed a little at the suggestion. "I think we have more important things to spend our money on right now. Don't worry- I'll make it clear to anyone we meet that I'm not available." Sheila leaned over and kissed Leo on the cheek.
