I still wouldn't risk it.     I didn't get Spacebase but that whole thing kinda soured me on Double Fine.

This looks p. fuckin' cool, but Double Fine's track record is bad enough that I don't really wanna put any money into it until I know when they're gonna cut working on it.

Considering the shit they pulled with the space station, even luring people into buying it with a Steam discount just before pulling the plug, I'd heartily recommend avoiding any and all of their Early Access. The chances of getting burned are very high.

This one's really tough for me. On the one hand, it looks like it was handcrafted as bait for me in particular.

On the other hand, Early Access drama.

Plus I haven't seen anything about mods or editors or the like, which is disappointing. I wonder if that's on the way or they're just gonna throw it together and kick it out the door.

Man, Massive Chalice really excited me when it was announced. On paper it seems like my ultimate game.

Unfortunately Doublefine has completely sullied its reputation and goodwill, and I am genuinely leery to purchase even a completed Doublefine game at this point.

The Steam reviews say this is thoroughly an Early Access game. Balance is off. 3 character classes to use. Combat has no zing to it, you're just gambling. Heroes basically get 3 to 4 fights in their life time and then they're old and you move on to the next generation.

My opinion of DF has never been high. This has not changed it.

Yup, avoiding like the plague. As vindictive as it is I REALLY hope DF feel the sting of what they did with Spacebase DF9 in this. Developers really need to start realising that they lose a hell of goodwill when they start doing this kinda thing.

I'm 99% sure I'd have early accessed (or at least bought it on it's first bump down from full price) if they hadn't messed that up so much.

I've not had the chance to watch yet, but I heard that gameplay was lifted pretty directly from New-XCom.  Like, according to the guy that linked me that video, they even kept the 'multiple invasions but you can only pick one' thing, which I thought was kinda annoying in NewCom, and which makes me feel like they legit just said "Let's take NewCom and make it fantasy instead of scifi!" or something.
