Casual Farmville

The play button does nothing. Watching the title screen and clicking that button comprise the gameplay. $10 or 15 hours of gameplay allow you to click on the options button, which also does nothing.

You should take that idea to whoever's making one of the various copyright-friendly remakes. They could add it as a higher difficulty or something.

Hardcore Blinx (remember that one?):
-Platform segments with Rare-like levels of pain.
-Demon's Souls / Dark Souls invasion mechanism from other timestreams.
-More enemies with ranged attacks
-No checkpoints.

Here's one that, done right, could be interesting.

Hardcore Star Control (the first one):

-Gameplay switched to real time
-Multiple species may colonize the same planet
-When different species contest a planet, gameplay switches to an Alpha Centauri style world map
-Contested planets suffer a production penalty until one side takes full control.
-Planetary struggles also take place in real-time. Most games have multiple planetary conquests in action at the same time; you must focus your attention on the ones most important to your strategy.

-Hypermelee is now fully 3-dimensional, with a flight-sim style control scheme. Each ship has completely different controls that cannot be remapped. Piloting a Yehat ship requires you to blow into a microphone to simulate wingbeats. Chenjesu pilots must whistle in several different, perfectly pitched tones. Good luck figuring out Umgah ships, I don't even...
-Any time 2 opposing ships are in the same system, hypermelee engages and forces both players immediately into the cockpits of the opposing ships. The rest of the galaxy is not paused while hypermelee takes place.

And then, they will be weaponized. Like everything in this game, from kittens to babies, everything is a potential device of murder.
So if baseless speculation is all we have, we might as well treat it like fact.

Hardcore Fez:
- When you die, you are teleported to the beginning of the stage, the stage returning back to its primary state (all the items you might have gotten are back in their original place)
- There are monsters you have to fight, but the fighting system is very difficult to grasp, with combos, aimed blocks and strikes. And the monsters instakill you.
    -  Ultrahardcore mode: You can't fight. You can only run like the sissy little oblong-headed creature you are.

Hardcore Civilization IV: Caveman 2 Cosmos mod. Seriously.

You want a civilization? Good luck collecting rocks and twigs. You want population growth? You're funny. You want to explore? This cave lion doesn't think so.

Later on, nice economy you have there. Would be a shame if crime happened to it...

Seriously, check that mod out :D

Sadly, on my computer it's more like

Yeah, crocodiles are sometimes knights, and the boats are really rafts in disguise.
Wanted to play a turn, please wait for 5 minutes
What a nice save you got there, on no, now you don't
etc...

Ordinary civ is fine, as are other mods.  They packed a bit to much stuff in it, making it less coherent and rather unstable.

When have you tried that one last? I hear their older versions were a lot less stable; current one only crashes on me if I play for many hours on end and reload frequently (yeah, that NEVER happens :P)

If you ever have a night to waste, try it again. The current version is running very smoothly.

*cough* Back on topic!

Casual Cataclysm DDA: Food and sleep are no longer an issue, and are instead used to provide buffs. Zombies are all shambling corpses that move slower than you. Wildlife prefers to stay in the forest, and only attacks when threatened.
