Ok, so I got a minor detail about whodunnit wrong.

Olenna reaches her hand up to Sansa when greeting her.

I had to check over this one thoroughly to make sure it wasn't just her dress covering it up, but her necklace is definitely missing one of the crystals after Olenna greets her. You can see the little metal nib where the crystal was once connected to it dangling above her dress, the crystal just isn't tucked away - it's gone.

I was wrong in that I stated that Olenna was sitting next to Sansa, she was not. She was either lucky or had help getting the cup within her reach.

Margaery here motions to take Joffrey's cup from him. In the books there is nothing to suggest she was in on the assassination, but here she is the one who delivered the cup to Olenna. The coincidence is just too much to not consider that she was an accomplice.

The Lady of Thorns here is looking on as Tyrion takes the goblet - blinking repeatedly. Repeated blinking is a sign of stress of nervousness, something she would have no reason to be otherwise.

Mace was probably not in on it, he's looking on his wife in puzzlement as she stares intently at Joffrey. Mace is perhaps not as stupid as she believes him to be, but he is smart enough not to question her publicly at least.

The rest is history.

The way Olenna reacted at the king's choking was also particularly striking, as if she was waiting for it. Also Sansa suddenly wishing to leave right before the deed is done, it's almost to obvious. Can't imagine whom else could be responsible but them, Sansa definatly had all the motives anyone could need, but can't quite understand what Olenna stood to gain. Wether Maergary is involved is is a mystery though.

Sansa didn't know; she was a ploy in that Olenna didn't want her granddaughter marrying a shit like Joff; if he died, she could then go on to the less douchey Baratheon male.

The way Olenna reacted at the king's choking was also particularly striking, as if she was waiting for it. Also Sansa suddenly wishing to leave right before the deed is done, it's almost to obvious. Can't imagine whom else could be responsible but them, Sansa definatly had all the motives anyone could need, but can't quite understand what Olenna stood to gain. Sansa was not involved. Sansa couldn't lie for shit, or at least keep secrets well enough for the standards of people like Littlefinger. If Sansa knew she was wearing Joffrey's death she probably would have given it away somehow, even as savvy a liar as she had already become by living in King's Landing. Remember - the only reason she left was because Dontos led her away just in time. In the 1st ep of season 4 Olenna tells Margaery to watch her tongue when she slags off Joffrey for being cruel - warning that they don't know who is listening. This to me suggests that Margaery might not have been in on it, as had she known she would not have said anything that could link her to the future assassination would anyone be listening, and that was Olenna's way of telling her to be silent without telling her of what she was planning. Or maybe Maggy was just being careless. It's not concrete.

I specifically looked at the necklace, and I am sorry to say I missed the missing stone.  Sometimes a missing stone is just a missing stone.  It seems awfully convoluted to give a poisoned stone to Sansa, pass it to Olenna, then to Margaery, and then get it in the cup.  Too many moving parts. 

Could the pie have been poisoned?  Could it have been Cersei aiming at Margaery? 

I need to rewatch.  How would the poison get from Sansa to Olenna to Margaery?  Would Margaery have been a party to it?

Olenna takes the poison off Sansa when they greet, after the dwarf jousting and cup drama Margaery puts the cup on the left table near Olenna, as everyone is distracted by the slicing of the pie Olenna slips the poison into the cup, after wich Tyrion again brings the cup to Joffrey.

It is a little convoluted now that I type it. Lots of moving parts...

Olenna does definatly touch one of the crystals on Sansa's necklace however. Just not entirely visible if she actually takes it.

Ironically as she does it she's talking about the tragedy of killing a man at a wedding.

No. This is after Tyrion pours him a glass, at which point he drinks some of it, hands it to Margaery who then puts it on the table within Olenna' reach.

So obviously Sansa is not in on it. The fool gives the necklace to her, so it might be him who is in league with Olenna. Him whisking her away could all be part of the plan, if the plan was to frame Tyrion for the murder all along, wich would explain the convoluted steps to make him appear guilty. After all they want Sansa in Highgarden.

Still seems very implausable though, hmm...

Framing Tyrion would actually make perfect sense. With him out of the picture Sansa could remarry into their house and she's the rightful heir to the North.

You may also be forgetting that someone has been planning to smuggle Sansa out of King's Landing since the first episode of season 3...

Actually, there are enough clues in the show to find out who the second person was.

The person who was planning to get Sansa out of King's Landing from the start was Petyr Baelish, and in ep 3 Ros tells Varys that Littlefinger had ordered 2 feather beds, not 1 for his journies. For telling Varys this secret Ros was sold to Joffrey, who killed her via the crossbow. He's been the one thwarting the Tyrell's plans to take her to highgarden, and he's been so adept at hiding his true intentions as only littlefinger could.

It's difficult to judge. Petyr did try to win Catlyn's hand in marriage BY CHALLENGING FUCKING BOSSMAN STARK TO A DUEL. HE ALMOST DIED. So it's not that unlikely he would devote ridiculous amounts of resources to winning Catlyn's daughter's hand in marriage. Then again, the person who said that Petyr's only interest in Sansa was sexual was a whore, and not a wise whore at that. We haven't seen much to tell of what Petyr's actual relationship towards Sansa is, as so far there's usually been something in between the two.

• It could be platonic love (protecting Catlyn's daughter?)
• It could be infatuated love (Catlyn's dead, her daugher looks like her so close enough?)
• Is Petyr looking for a successor (By the time she's in the vale she is learning a lot of Petyr's tricks, beginning to manipulate the little Lord of the Vale of her own volition)?

Keep in mind the guy owns practically all the brothels in Westeros. If he wanted sex, he has plenty of choices.
