How much longer do we have to talk about S4E2 in spoilers?

Sure it's a fairly convoluted plot, and predicting the cupbearer routine would have been pretty unlikely (unless margery suggested it to joffrey beforehand), but Olenna almost certainly had poison of her own, and would have used that if framing sansa/tyrion wasn't possible she would likely have used that. Framing sansa/tyrion would be an upside to the main plan of killing joffrey, and even if it weren't for the cupbearer routine it would be easy to get sansa blamed by pointing out that she had a quantity of the same poison used to kill joffrey concealed on her.

Nobody suspected Olenna before and after the poisoning. Even if Tyrion wasn't blamed by Joffrey, there would still be nothing pointing to Olenna that she did the poisoning. Were the Lannisters to accuse the Tyrrels of poisoning Joffrey, the Tyrells could take contend for King's Landing by force - after all, it was the Tyrells the public remembers as lifting the siege, it was the Tyrells the public remember as bringing food into the city e.t.c.
Olenna likely wouldn't have intentionally tried framing Tyrion or Sansa, as doing so would mean her pointing out that she had knowledge of the poison Sansa wore. It was really just their luck that Joffrey pointed at Tyrion with his dying moments. Rest assured, if she wasn't smuggled out by Dontos then either Highgarden or Casterly rock would have taken Sansa, she's too valuable for both sides to just throw away.

1. Everyone except Cersei had a reason they wouldn't be all that saddened by Joffrey's death. How many people did the show insult? Literally everyone important in the crowd, and the camera pans to every single person in the wedding who hates Joffrey before he drinks the wine. It's a lot of people.
2. She can't just up and point out the necklace without drawing attention to her.

I find it funny that most of the Kingsguard just sort of stand around idly, blithering about. Even when Joffrey's choking only Jaime is the first to react - if Joffrey hadn't sacked Barristan Selmy he'd still be around to dick around.
All for the better really.

You could even make the argument that if Joffrey had allowed Jaime to guard him as Jaime intended, this wouldn't have happened. Jaime's clearly more attentive to his job than Meryn.

You could technically blame the war of the 5 kings on Littlefinger telling Catelyn that the dagger was Tyrion's. Her kidnapping Tyrion is what prompted Tywin's raids on the Riverlands, setting all the right reasons for war in motion.

1. Her position in court is hostage and Joffrey's plaything. It's not a prominent one.
2. If she's detained. Keep in mind, the Tyrells didn't call the shots here. Cersei did. And guess why the Tyrells drawing attention to themselves is a bad idea? Cersei fucking hates them. You may be forgetting here in that they wouldn't be able to frame Sansa that easily without setting themselves on fire too. Cersei would have them detained, and they would only be able to pray and hope they would win their eventual trial by combat.

Olenna was the mastermind.  Dorik (the fool) provided the poison.  It looks to me that Olenna, when playing with Sansa's hair, also looked like she could have been palming a stone.  The necklace was clearly missing a stone afterwards.  What I cannot determine is how the poison got to Joffery.  If by pie, the Margaery was an accomplice.  If by wine, then she need not have been he accomplice.  Under those circumstances, Tyrion would be collateral damage.  I do not think Olenna would have deliberately blamed him for the murder.  I cannot figure out HOW the poison got into the wine, if wine it was.  The pellet with the poison is in one of the vessels.  The vessel with the figure of the pestle.

In the books — and I make no promises, because I have two more books to write, and I may have more surprises to reveal — the conclusion that the careful reader draws is that Joffrey was killed by the Queen of Thorns, using poison from Sansa’s hair net, so that if anyone actually did think it was poison, then Sansa would be blamed for it. Sansa had certainly good reason for it.
