Aww, he's a stand-up fellow. He loves his dogs.

Who was that girl with him, though?

I wonder who poisoned Joffrey, I'm placing my money on the "I want to be Queen" bitch from Dawn.

And who's next in line?

I like this question. It's a question that started the War of the Five Kings to begin with. THE WORLD MAY NEVER KNOW.

Now now, let's not be sexist, one can be a megalomaniacal power hungry Machiavel without being a bitch just because she's a woman. Besides, Cersei holds the title for Queen bitch. How can she honestly insult the sex lives of others when hers is basically 100% in the family?

Ahem, in any case

The series is 100% historically accurate and should be taken on face value.
I really wonder, though, what do you mean by that obvious sarcasm?

Ramsay is one of my new favourite characters to watch.
Don't get me wrong, I hate the dude's guts for the evil, horrible shit he's done and will be immensely satisfied if/when he dies, but the actor does such a brilliant job. Every scene he's in is creepy as fuck, and the facial expressions he pulls are brilliant, too. Also his apparent friendship with Locke is hilarious.
Just like Joffrey was an evil little prick, but immensely entertaining to watch. They're the 'love-to-hate' kinda characters.

Man, I'm excited to watch more of this season. I've read that Arya and Sandor get a whole heap of screentime, which promises to be awesome.

Still reading the third book. I am way behind.
This season is the second half of the third book, actually. Well, for the most part. It seems like some of the parts of book 5 are being added in where appropriate. They've radically sped one of the plots up. But yes, you're actually not that far behind.

I have not read the books, and I am avoiding book-related spoilers.  Looking at Joffery's death, there is motive and opportunity.

There are so many people with motive that it is kind of meaningless.

Opportunity-Joffery could have been poisoned by wine or by pie.  He was fed pie by Margarey, who is now 0 for 2 in terms of husbands.

The other possibility is the wine.  What are the odds that Joffery would be abusive towards Tyrion?  Okay, pretty good, but what are the odds that he would use the whole "cup-bearer" routine?  Too random a chance.  The pie, however, is inevitably going to end up in Joffrey's mouth.  Seems like a better bet to me.

Well, he's still the worst parts of Robert and Cersei despite being Jaime's son. Seems a safe bet to me that he'd drink wine.

Also if you look really really close you can see who did it doing it.

There was no poison, it was bona fide choking. And Melisandre did it.

If it was bonafide choking I'd say it was Stan the Man.
