FYI, meditation or rest will give you 0.25 Mind per 4 hours.

Information about stuff:

Mind is currently regenerated at 1 per 12 hours and an additional 1 per 4 hours of rest or meditation

Some Mind and Strength can also now be gained through acts creating terror, despair, etc. among humans, to be randomly determined depending on the gravity of the act.

Strength and Mind can be gained through devouring souls. However, these souls can also be used to create minions, so be careful.

Some Strength can be gained by consuming flesh, with a minor Mind boost as well. However, there is a limit to this.

Achieving a certain amount of power will allow you to change form, transcending the physical realm to some extent. At this point, posing as a deity and gaining worshippers will become beneficial to you on a magical level.

All of this is now activated in order to increase the pace of the game so we can get on to the world-devouring bits and such without taking too much time.

Go to different tunnels and lie yourself strategically so it appears that a fellow human has fallen. Make sure only 1 or 2 humans are present each time. Whenever they check to see if you're okay, quickly rip out their throats.

Sidenote: This entire game screams of "find the sociopath".

While waiting in a deep tunnel in the mine shaft, you have several hours to ponder the applications of magic and its absorption from the ethereal realm.

Strength: 6 (+1 from meditation)
Mind: 6 (+3 from meditation)

It is now dawn, and the hematite vein is still disrupting your magesense, though to a lesser degree.

You are able to sense the first miners arriving for another day of toil, and note a welcome sense of fear underlying their surface thoughts. Three murders and a mutilated sheep are bound to spread rumors throughout the village before the day is out.

Mind: 7 (+3 from meditation, +1 from the humans' fear)

After assembling in the building just outside the mine serving as a meeting area and break room, the twenty miners descend into the main shaft and go about their business - lighting torches, oiling the rickety wooden minecarts, and beginning to chip away at the rock face.

It would seem that there are two assigned to the tunnel you are currently hiding in, and you find a convenient crevice to hide yourself in.

It would seem that you now have several options:

Ambush the two humans and kill them which would increase your Strength directly, though if they are able to call out for help it may cause issues.

Terrify the miners with hallucinations and visions, potentially causing casualties brought on by delusions and increasing your Mind. (it would take minimal effort to do this to twenty miners, costing two Mind initially) Bear in mind that with Mind comes increased power and the potential to raise minions, and with ten Mind you will be able to capture souls and put them to use.

Wait until the end of the shift and quietly remove some of the miners, potentially getting away with more than two murders.

Something else?

P.S. The manner of killing will affect what stats you gain.

Then pick off a few stranglers when the shift ends, or when the miners decide to flee the mine in terror.

I want to say slow, subtle, paranoia inducement. Less 'my companion looks dead', more 'they look sort of sickly'. Less 'the walls are bleeding', more 'I could have sworn my shadow was looking at me, but it must have just been some stray light'. And try to throw in a bit of 'what if the murderer is one of us?'...

Better go subtle all the way - never make it entirely apparent that something supernatural is going on. More of a vague sense of fear. Also add the idea that the beast that killed the villagers is outside. Waiting. Watching.
