You wait for the humans to pass, and watch as they examine the graveyard fence. You notice the hilt of a sword on one man's belt, and the long shape of a spear in the other's hand.

Appearing to realize that something is awry, they jog back the way they came, and you strike.

Leaping from cover, (20v12) you are easily able to overpower the swordsman before he can draw his weapon and tear apart his face and throat with your claws. Letting him fall, you pounce at the spearman, letting out a fearsome screech. He jabs at you with his weapon, but (12v9) you grab it and, using it as a lever, throw him to the ground with your formidable strength.

The doomed man lets out a yell for help that quickly becomes a strangled gurgle as you deftly spin the spear around and run him through, puncturing his lung. The mortal blow produces a satisfying crack as the spear snaps through a rib.

Your work done, you quickly finish off the dying men by tearing out their throats and (19v11) drag the bodies into the shadows, escaping notice. For now.

EDIT: Colors added.

Eat one and bury the other a emergency reserves for later. Keep the spear and any holster or strap it comes with, it likely has a better reach than your claws. Practice with the spear a bit.

Practice with the spear, yes. Then steal some of their clothes. If they have a hat or something, take that and put it on. If they don't, take a rag and wrap it around your head. Gotta look slightly normal from a distance.

Hello, I came here to say two things:
1. PTW
2. We couldn't enter the graveyard because it was holy ground, so it would be a waste of time to try to get in again.

So, I guess it is time to explore in the direction of where the humans came.    We should probably find some gloves, if they fit, or a jacket with the front pockets.  Something we can hide our claws in.  I expect us to look like a tourist with the Hawaiian shirt, except no Hawaiian shirt.

I don't think a shirtless tourist would be very inconspicuous, but I agree with the sentiment. Lie low.

Looking down, you find that your skin has a translucent purplish hue, and your fingers have wicked-looking claws in place of nails. You are wearing a torn and ragged tunic and trousers made of hemp.

1. Purple skin could be a problem, guys.
2. If we can get around that, we could use some new clothes.
3. Can we even speak?

He immediately begins to beavergoat the man quite thoroughly! At the very beginning, the man is mystified by James' actions, but his face quickly becomes a mask of horror when the procedure starts!

"OH GODS WHY? WHYYY?"

After a twenty minute session, the man is left white as a sheet, hairless and completely and utterly dead. James congratulates himself on a job well done!

You cannot speak and it would be very difficult to appear human except at a significant distance. Your eyes are red, your teeth are longer and sharper than a human's, your skin is a dead, grayish purple pallor, and you have inch-long claws on your hands.

Having nothing better to do, you take a glance to make sure no one is in the immediate area and then promptly crack open the dead swordsman's skull with a well-placed curbstomp and feed on his brains. While consuming the still-warm, rubbery flesh, you feel something... awaken inside of you.

Suddenly, you feel that you have been chosen somehow, that you have a sense of purpose. A red light shines from inside you for a moment, and you.... live.

You can feel your surroundings, an ethereal playground in which you know where every living thing is within fifty yards and can gaze upon the surface thoughts of those around you. This sixth sense is fuzzier farther out than that, but you can hear the vague murmur of human minds across most of the village. Nearly three hundred souls in all, too many to overcome directly but not enough to warrant much more than a search party should something happen...

Your vision changes, and you see the faint glimmer of a magical ward protecting the graveyard twenty meters away, like a bubble-shaped, bluish mirage.

The townspeople are rising, you can feel it. Awakened by the shouts, torches are being lit and men are coming. Good thing whatever the hell just happened, happened. You might have been killed otherwise...

Well, you still might. You are in a narrow alley between two shacks with two human corpses and blood covering your hands and mouth, not far from the center of the village.

By the way, it is now about two in the morning, and the half-moon is shining high in the sky.

Sneak around and get into the village while the search party is out hunting you. Break into a sleeping house for some easy feeding.

You are already in the middle of the village, near the cemetery where you killed a couple of guys and ate someone's brain.

Oh. I thought you dragged them to the woods first. My bad.

GTFO of the village and find some high ground to watch the search party from.

Dodging around a pair of peasants wielding pitchforks and torches, you abandon your meal and throw your spear at a man who appears to be a leader of some kind, (20) impaling him through the throat and severing his carotid artery. Falling to the ground and gouting blood, he dies in seconds.

You sprint through the muddy streets and into the forest faster than any human could, and do not meet any more resistance. Looping back around, you climb a nearby hill and turn your eyes toward the village, being careful not to skyline yourself.

About 20 people are clustered around the mauled bodies and another 20 are fanning out in teams of 3 or 4 and searching the village, knocking on doors and rousing others.

Using your newfound mental powers, you (13) invade the minds of still-sleeping villagers and plant images of terror in their dreams - vistas of impossible geometry and darkness with disembodied souls floating in the wind, and hordes of unearthly creatures baying and feasting on the dead, a burning village surrounding them.

Attempting the same trick on the villagers who are awake, you are met with a surprising vigilance and mental fortitude which makes it impossible for you to affect them.

It is now about 2:45 AM.
