Everyone goes to sleep in the bar again, occupying the same floorspace as before, weary and bruised this time but sleeping contentedly, flush with success.
They wake up and head over to the caravan to collect their reward. The merchants are set up in a warehouse by the docks. You head inside and are greeted with the sight of more wealth then you've seen in a long time, possibly ever... Hundreds upon hundreds of jars of preserved foods are meticulously piled. Beans, pickled veggies, preserves and biscuits, tied together for easy loading onto the pack mules milling around near the entrance. An ATV sits off to the side, loaded up with racks of rifles and a flamethrower. Most of the cargo seems to be scrap metal and electronics, crates and crates of the stuff, clearly the haul of many dozens of scavengers who have done business with the caravan. There's a large pile of coats sitting on a tarp, ready to be loaded up. There's also a variety of odd items, old books, dozens of boots tied together by the laces, plastic barrels marked "XXX". It's a veritable treasure trove and the guards are watching you like hawks, not allowing you to step so much as a pace away from the warehouse entrance.
After a few moments the caravan master emerges from the back and beckons you forward to a table where the caravan guards escort you to prevent any straying. The caravan master puts a crate on the table and unloads it.
"As we agreed on, here's the payment for your work. New Langley standard rates minus the items you were given in advanced." Casting an eye over you he divides the loot into four piles and offers it up.
Each pile contains:
5 preserved food
2 winter coats
A bag of 10 9mm bullets
"If you want an alternative form of payment I'm sure we could come to an arrangement. Especially if you are interested in buying winter coats. Winter comes once a year, you know, and you humans don't do so well in the cold."
((If you want to swap items you can trade any of the stuff that the mutant gave you at a friendly exchange rate, i.e. 2-3. Any other items can be traded at an indifferent exchange rate, i.e. 2-1. If you want to buy clothes they'll sell them at a 1-1 basis. This is all before any negotiations on Kat's part. The caravan's isn't guaranteed to have every item you want, they are mostly trading scrap, clothing, food and booze right now.))
