((@V-Norrec: Nepthym also lacks a lot of the "assets" Jacelyna has...))

Mordekhai rose an eyebrow. He'd rather not be fighting an animate shadow pillow of Nepthym, but it apparently would be that way. Although he supposed the pillow part was mostly an impression, as the copy's attacks still seemed as sharp as the original's, although the crusader's armor kept showing its worth, as it always did.

"Well, at least the feeling isn't too bad." Mordekhai said with a smile before starting to rotate his arm and the thurible along with it, the chain starting to spin with the heavy metal object at its end moving menacingly in short circles as the crusader maneuvered it with his fingers. "Let's see."

His arms tensed and then released the energy, both swinging the chain-based weapons towards the young man's target in an attack difficult to be avoided without a great deal of agility.

Pincer attack with both weapons: the flail swings for her torso, while the thurible in the offhand is swung towards her legs, to chain them and trap her in place.

((Like that nice banner, and that passionate attitude.))

Upon hearing no response, Akari couldn't take the tension anymore.

"Go ahead and hide! Hide like the coward you are! You wanted to sacrifice me away for some demon? Well, I'm still standing here, alive and well! If you want me, come take me!"

...Goad enemy into slipping up.

((Caellath: Assumptions, assumptions :P ))

Illumination

Nepthym's eyes adjusted quickly to the brightness-she was, after all, a being of light, and not shade. If the myths of half-celestials were to be believed, she had sunlight in her veins. She used both of them on occasion. She looked over at the port-starboard area...and tried to steady her aim.

Action: Prepare to use a Snipe Shot on the Mage if I spot her again

Zealots and Demons, Turn 47:  At least Ochita isn't Tiruin

Quote from: Ochita, 89
THROW THROW THROW AT THE CULTIST, Or where that noise came from.

[6] You throw the potion down towards one of the engines and it explodes, sending shrapnel all across the room and blowing a good size chunk out of the floor.  [1]  Jacelyna somehow avoids all this though she is now plainly visible, as is everyone else thanks the the burning wreckage all around.

Quote from: Shadow Neptyhm, 72
Quench the Light Source.

[2] The living shadow attempts to extinguish the light source with it's very nature, it fails however.

Quote from: lawastooshort, 38
Locate Jacelyna, but prioritise remaining in hiding. Observe once found. Does the fiend have weaknesses?

[3] You locate Jacelyna.  You aren't able to follow her closely, but despite being so close to the explosion she looks unharmed.... if that explosion wasn't enough to do anything to her, you aren't sure what is.

Quote from: Caellath, 32
Pincer attack with both weapons: the flail swings for her torso, while the thurible in the offhand is swung towards her legs, to chain them and trap her in place.

[6] You swing your flail towards the torso, the shadow just slides to the side however. [4] [1 damage] You manage to trap the shadow in place, you aren't sure for how long though.

Quote from: Jacelyna, 21
Cast Flamme Rouge twice, once at the healer and again at the Mage.

"Well, well well, you finally found me.  It won't avail you though.  The powers arrayed against you are far too powerful.  Your annihilation is pre-destined."  she says, grinning as you can feel the level of magic surrounding her rise.  This is going to hurt...

[2] The first attack begins with an outline being carved around the priest but the magic seemingly fails, perhaps too much interference from the exploded pieces of engine? [5] ([2]+[6]x2 = 16 damage) The second Flamme Rouge goes off seemlessly, as the ground ignites with red fire that explodes upwards covering Akari in the holy flames.  Little is left but a blackened husk by the time the seal wears off.

"Didn't like that, did you?" she says mocking the mage.

Quote from: Tiruin, 20
...Goad enemy into slipping up.

If possible, conjure to improve: try to make that orb of light a personal item!

[6] "That... hardly hurt at all."  You manage to spit out.  "Don't worry, I'll end your pain in just a while, bear with me." Jacelyna quips.

[2]  Given the nature of your pain and the fact you can't even move without pieces of charred skin breaking off and falling to the ground leaving behind exposed muscles and nerves, you understandably don't focus on the orb of light, at all.

Quote from: Dwarmin, 7
Action: Prepare to use a Snipe Shot on the Mage if I spot her again

[1]  You see Jacelyna and take the shot immediately.  You completely forget about the new prevailing winds coming from the floor and your shot misses, badly, ricocheting off the ceiling and [6] towards yourself.  You manage to fall back in time.  You look at the Kitsune. . . if someone doesn't protect her something, she's as good as dead against an opponent like. . . you just now, getting a good look at her for the first time, notice that she is wearing the same clothes as you, or rather, you stole her clothes and are wearing them.  "Jacelyna Murrein" you call out.  "Oh, so you do know who I am.  I will admit, I'm not used to my reputation preceeding me, but I can see that you already emulate your betters." she responds

Sh finally got a good look at the elusive mage, doing a double take...

"...At least I know why this blouse feels so loose in chest now." Nepthym said, leaping from cover and charging the mage.

Jacalyna needed to bleed-something to break her confidence and concentration.

Action: Charge and dual Attack her! Thrust attack with both my Dagger and my Sabre. Keep her away from Akari

Mordekhai's attention is diverted from Nepthym's shadow to more pressing matters as he hears the ominous crackling of magic going off. Dread creeping inside his mind, he turns around to find Jacelyna gloating over Akari's burnt form.

The crusader's relatively playful countenance changes once again, twisting into a snarl of anger. His voice raises once again, fell and seeping with hatred.
"Lowly cultist. You'll regret the day you were born into this world."

Still keeping the shadow copy's legs trapped with his chain, he tries to drag and use her as a weapon against Jacelyna, attempting to take down the sorcerer with her own creation.

Heal Akari and call for Jacelyna's attention, then attack her using Shadow Nepthym as a projectile, swinging the chain and releasing her legs to fling her towards the spellcaster.

What are my chances of falling down the hole then?))

((Oh. Well. Erm. Ouch. Yeah.))

Akari grinned despite the pain surrounding her. Her whole body screamed in agony as she moved her hand to grip the staff again, her eyes noticing most of her fur was badly singed. Though, none of her vulnerable areas were compromised, she could feel death coming once more just like in the sacrificial chamber that was once the Cathedral.

Her eyes adjusted to the light as her vision blurred. Her bracelet was unharmed, so was most of her staff. The words emblazoned on the former were the only thing that kept her going.

"You are not alone."

The demon. The cultist. The mage.

Three signs appearing as symbols reminiscent of her home flashed before her. 'Many things,' she remembered, 'in the world are deadly, but not all can kill without help.'

She blinked as she recalled the words of Mother, perhaps...despite her physical condition, her fighting spirit was still there. Her enemy was strong, and brimming with higher magic than what she was trained in for most of her rudimentary life.

Aside from that, she'd bet that Jacelyna was of a higher calibre of thought than she was -- a simple Kitsune -- she desmonstrated her prowess of the mind, tactics, strategy and brilliance...as if she actually had outside help! Whether intuition or not, perhaps there was no way to defeat her in this condition.

Unless she improvised.

That's it.

Enchantment!

Create a feedback trigger on the field -- if Jacelyna would cast a spell, this spell attempts to intercede and deliver damage according to mana spent, or redirect the spell back to the caster. Or break it.

((Composition of Engines? Are they open working masses of gears?))

She gathered up what was left of her energy to just issue another taunt before acting out her spell.

"Annihilation be damned! Hit me with whatever your heathen god can throw, because I can take it! You sanctimonious bitch!"

The shadows gone and her companions edging closer to death, it was time to attack, safety be damned...

Leap into the attack with Nepthym! Thrust and then retreat to cover if possible.

And yes, standing near a hole makes you invulnerable/lets you instakill everyone? Who knew. :P ))

Zealots and Demons, Turn 48:  Jacelyna, The Holy Huntress

Quote from: Caellath, 95
Heal Akari and call for Jacelyna's attention, then attack her using Shadow Nepthym as a projectile, swinging the chain and releasing her legs to fling her towards the spellcaster.

[4] [4 healed] You quickly cast a spell of healing on Akari, some of the damage going away, she still looks one step shy of death though. [4] [1 damage]  You fling the Shadowy Nepthym at the far away Jacelyna, but on contact Jacelyna barely looks like she was hit at all.  The Shadow Nepthym stands up and assumes a fighting position.

Quote from: Ochita, 72
Cast holy shield on the party.

[6]  You attempt to cast the spell, but you realize the burning crystal that powered the engine is playing havoc with your use of mana in the local area, causing you to overload the spell with too much mana at a critical point.  The entire spell winks out of existence.

Quote from: Shadow Nepthym, 62
Intercept any attackers heading for Jacelyna

[1]  Stays beside Jacelyna, not really the best position for intercepting attackers

Quote from: Dwarmin, 25
Action: Charge and dual Attack her! Thrust attack with both my Dagger and my Sabre. Keep her away from Akari

[3] ([1]+[3]+2-1/2=3 damage] You thrust, and manage to cut into her exposed arm a little but it seems she was expecting that. [6] [2 damage returned]  As you attempt to cut into her heart with the sabre, you realize you have left yourself wide open.  You realize this because Jacelyna's knee has found your stomach and you fly towards the side of the ship, hitting your head against the thick metal.

Quote from: Jacelyna, 24
Jump over the hole then charge the mage, ending her torment, cast Nightmare at the healer and then cast Flamme Rouge at the bitch who cut me.

[5] Jacelyna jumps over the hole with ease in a spectacular side flip.  Her claws seem to become miniature cleavers on landing, eager for blood to be spilt. [1]  Akari manages to roll away from Jacelyna though, wanting to live to see yet another day. [2]  Again the interference from the burning engine's crystal saves Aegnor from any harm.  [5] ([6]+[5]x2=22 damage] This time the outline surrounds Nepthym.  As it ignites a scream fills the entire Engine room.  A scream that sounds like it came from the torture pits of the Nether.

"If only they could see me now!" Jacelyna exclaims, confident in her victory.

Quote from: lawastooshort, 22
Leap into the attack with Nepthym! Thrust and then retreat to cover if possible.

[6] You leap towards Jacelyna but her claws parry all the attacks you throw at her. She even attempts to grab hold of your knife with her claws [4] but you manage to keep your grasp on the weapon. [5] You retreat, behind one of the remaining engines, hiding there from this deranged sorcerer, and her ability to call down the flames of the Heavens.

Quote from: Tiruin, 10
Enchantment!

Create a feedback trigger on the field -- if Jacelyna would cast a spell, this spell attempts to intercede and deliver damage according to mana spent, or redirect the spell back to the caster. Or break it.

[1] You roll to the side as Jacelyna tries to attack you.  You try to create some kind of feedback mechanism, but as you work Tikan steps in front of you, distracting you from your enchantment.

Quote from: Ship's Captain
Situation Report

Sir, we're losing altitude too fast, we can't clear that next mountain.

How long until impact?

2 minutes, 3 minutes max. ([5] turns)

Cut all power, I won't lose anyone because of some magic fire that breaks out after the crash

Yes sir, all power is cut.

"NO!"

What is there to do? Give up! I can't win this! I can't even cast a coherent spell! It's like my chances are weighed against me!

They've got Jacelyna! Err, Ne-...her! My allies are in trouble, the ship is looking like it'll lose altitude fast...

The Engines are done for, since we can't work in peace that is. That damn bitch is still gloating, so filled with herself...

Akari glared at Jacelyna, partly with hatred, and partly with envy at her prowess and... other features.

She closed her eyes for the moment, wishing all her friends well.

This looks like a good day to die anyway. Better in battle than as a sacrifice.

Gripping her staff, she wondered if creativity and sheer willpower could outmatch this hellspawn in front of her.

Channel all remaining energy into restoring self, then use the power to charge at Jacelyna, hopefully knocking her down, preferably into a pit or someplace that would give her a huge disadvantage.

...Also, Pray, if that's a free action.

Belessunu, I know you're not my diety, but please watch over those who fight against these heathens.
