"My apologies, Jacelyna. I didn't mean to... lose control of myself. Worry not, I do not find you amusing."

Zealots and Demons, Turn 44:  Enter Jacelyna

Quote from: Dwarmin
Action: Empty my canteen to clear my eyes and remove some of the glitterati and otherwise follow the group

[3]  You empty your canteen clearing your eyes, the stubborn glitter remains in place though.  [6]  You follow the group down the ladder, loudly, announcing your presence to all in the eerily silent Engine Room.

Quote from: Ochita
Create a sobriety draft! (added) and then go to the engine room

[5] You create a wonderfully potent sobriety draft and give it to the stewardess leaving her to administer it to the Drunken Captain. The ship should now land... errr... crash safely enough for you to live no matter where in the ship you are located! [1] Which is good because on your way down you manage to break the ladder, no way to get back up and avoid the cultists now...

Quote from: Tiruin
To the Engine Room!

[2] You start down the ladder but fail to realize it's broken.  You fall down about three feet and land in a crumpled heap.  Your tail is comically covering your face as you mutter, "Ow, why does everything bad always happen to me?"

Quote from: Caellath
Help Nepthym in case her efforts fail, then follow Akari.
(No materials with which to help Nepthym)

[3]  You follow Akari and land right on over her, your legs just barely spread apart far enough to keep from squishing her.  "Whoa, that's quite the last step there, isn't it?"

Quote from: lawastooshort
Stay with Aegnor and stay watchful!

[5]  You drop down the ladder shaft silently, staying hidden in the poorly lit room.  You look around, the magical engine cores have been completely destroyed.  They are now emanating a faint silvery light, and that's all that illuminates the room.  You continue scanning the room, in the gloom though, it's quite hard to see.  You do hear something though. . . it appears to be speaking from all around you. . . some kind of mage no doubt.  "I was wondering if there was anyone left.  That whole announcement rather ruined my plans, no matter, everyone left on this ship will be a perfect sacrifice for my goddess and benefactor, Lady Tavis!" says the surprisingly feminine voice.

Enemy Turn

Quote from: Jacelyna Murrein
Coalesce shadows into the forms of my enemies.  Cast the spell, Claws of the Absorbed Souls.

[5] [1 Enemy Reproduced] The, as of yet, hidden Jacelyna calls upon her magic to make the shadows into the shape of her enemies, specifically the Celestial.  All the equipment appears to be there as well, it's a perfect shadow clone.  [2]  A small, yet distinct, sound of magical energy popping can be heard in the distance, behind one of the ruined engine cores.  You can't be certain as to which one though.  ((There are Four ruined engine cores, Forward-Aft, Forward-Starboard, Rear-Aft, Rear-Starboard))

Quote from: Shadow Nepthym
Skitter away before firing on the Celestial.

[3] It skitters away, still visible because apparently some of the glitters rubbed off from the original to the clone. [2] It takes out it's rifle and fires, missing with it's shadow bullet.

"Mordekhai-agh, thanks for not falling on others with armor on..." Akari muttered, writhing out of the pain of a comedic three foot drop while edging away from under the crusader. Somehow, the fall hurt her more in the front than in the back...

"Did anyone hear something? I think I did but maybe it's just the wind?" The Kitsune said as she stood up, applying pressure to her lower back to ease the pain while whispering to the others just in case something was up.

((I do not know if the attack of Shadow Neph was seen by everyone.))

((Heh, sensically I should make it larger, like an eight footer, but I'm pretty lazy, so I'm just going to pretend you're all midgets and still can't escape.  As for seeing the attack, it would be hard, you could hear it though.  Shadow Nepthym makes just as much noise as the real one, and is still glitter covered.))

((A further note, this is the same Jacelyna that Nepthym is pretending to be, and the same one whose clothes she stole, minus stockings, garterbelt filled with throwing knives, and sleeves as, if I remember correctly, all of those were left behind.  Kind of a good thing really otherwise I can only imagine the hilarity of a critical miss on Jacelyna while Nepthym was near.  I didn't remember if we gave her a last name or not, if we did, let me know and I'll change it to the first one by the way.))

Edit:  ((I stopped being lazy, Jacelyna's real last name is Murrein, I'm changing it now.))

((OOC: Nah, she had a second name V-Norrec...

someone had left their boarding pass among the scattered papers. The name on it was Jacelyna Murrein, a female name;

))

Nepthym saw something that looked disturbingly like herself spring into the darkness, copying her acrobatic style more or less flawlessly. Same skinny, wiry build-same clothes-weapons arranged the same. A magical construct, she mused.

"I'm sure that's not me-don't be afraid to get rough with it. We've got to find that Mage before we all end up fighting mirrors. Three of you take that thing out, someone come with me and we'll start flushing her out."

Nepthym then coiled away from the strange echoing gunshot that went whizzing by. Hmm. time for a game of hide and seek.

She tapped Aegnor on the shoulder as went, whispering "We could use some light here, Alchemist."

Action: Check the Rear-Starboard Compartment, stay under cover to avoid the sniper and the mage

Aegnor heard the ping as a shot rebounded off from the wall close to him. Taking a step back, he prepared to Cast a holy shield, when Nepthym whispered to him. Nodding once, he quickly sets out his kit, and prepares to make something akin to greek fire.

Akari perked up at the sound of 'Mage' -- specifically her ears and tail. She knew that mages were a rare sight, and seeing one against them only meant one thing: Cultists.

Sweet revenge, here I come!

"Jacelyn! I'll go with you! Also, I'll just get my...erm, I guess I had something for the health around here earlier."

Sneak with Nepthym! Conjure up a Health Potion! [Is drinking a free action?]

Tikan dropped down as Nepthym and Akari snuck off. One day, she mused, she'd have to master the art of the rifle. Until then though, her lightfootedness would have to do. She silently followed Nepthym's suggestion, signalling with her hands that she was moving off.

Sneak up to the sniper/clone. Thrust if I get close enough.

"Mordekhai-agh, thanks for not falling on others with armor on..." Akari muttered, writhing out of the pain of a comedic three foot drop while edging away from under the crusader.
"Thanks and nevermind our position." he said, pushing himself up and away from Akari, noticing how amusing she was when she perked her ears and tail right before also noticing - with a bit of a shame - that that was not the moment to think about such things. Veke, you old man.

"Yes, the shadow was so masterfully copied even the glitter carried over to it." the crusader commented before charging the copy. "Please, try to find the cultist, I'll deal with the clone, or try to at least."

Smash the flail against Shadow Nepthym's legs, aiming to disable by chaining them.

"Hey steve." You speak into the air.
>Yes?
"Could you guys also make a hamburger out of this arm when they cut it off? I wanted to eat it just for the sake of tasting it."
>That is horrible and disgusting. It will no doubt set you apart and create fear in your team mates. So of course.

Z&D: The Fall of a God, Turn 45: A Standstill
« Reply #539 on: October 08, 2012, 05:03:18 pm »

Zealots and Demons, Turn 45:  A Standstill

Quote from: Jacelyna Murrein, 93
Cast Claws of the Absorbed Souls, then cast Nightmare on the enemy mage.

[5]  Silently Jacelyna casts a strong version of Claws of the Absorbed Souls, the tips of her fingers growing into wicked scythe-like claws. [1] Jacelyna hides away, waiting for her prey to make a move.

Quote from: lawastooshort, 92
Sneak up to the sniper/clone. Thrust if I get close enough.

[2] You try to sneak up on the clone of Nepthym, it has spotted you though. [4]  You get behind cover, not wanting Jacelyna (the real one) to find you until later, much later.

Quote from: Caellath, 54
Smash the flail against Shadow Nepthym's legs, aiming to disable by chaining them.

[1]  You attempt to smash your flail against the Shadow, however the shadow back flips away at the last possible moment, letting your flail hit nothing but air.

Quote from: Shadow Nepthym
Shoot the Crusader, run towards the forward-aft section.

[2] The shadow misses after attempting a quick shot from her landing position.  It's not surprising she missed really.  [2] She stands still, at least as still as shadows stand.

Quote from: Tiruin, 39
Sneak with Nepthym! Conjure up a Health Potion!

[2]  You attempt to sneak, but on the metal floor your unpracticed footsteps always seem to create noise, altering any to your presence.  [1] You don't bother with that conjuration nonsense, that would make you. . . oh wait... you're already a wizard.

Quote from: Dwarmin, 29
Check the Rear-Starboard Compartment, stay under cover to avoid the sniper and the mage

[2] You half-stumble half-creep closer to your goal. [4]  You take cover behind some debris from the engine cores.  It's a little bit cozy but not bad as far as battlefield furnishing goes.

Quote from: Ochita, 12
prepares to make something akin to greek fire.

[1] You search through your components but you can't seem to find the right one, you know put it somewhere.
