Aegnor shouted

"Damnit!"

Focusing rapidly, he attempted to cast holy shield on the party again, and afterwards he will throw any caustic substance in his alchemy kit at Jacelyna.

((Not going to lie, I really hope that works because it will be epic if it goes exactly like what I just thought of in my head., you know what, fuck it, you get to go now, because I love ya.  Don't take that the wrong way.))

Quote from: Tiruin
Channel all remaining energy into restoring self, then use the power to charge at Jacelyna, hopefully knocking her down, preferably into a pit or someplace that would give her a huge disadvantage.

Or...just attempt to break her staff, especially the head. Then try Enchantment! to disrupt Jacelyna.

Whichever seems more feasible...

[3] In a moment of Desperation, Akari consumes all of her own mana to try and turn the tide of this battle.  [2 Health Restored]  [4]  With a burst of energy you charge the woman picking her up and then jumping... jumping down the hole where the engine used to be.  [5]  You close your eyes, expecting death, but. . . it doesn't come... you open your eyes and you're just hanging there, having let go of Jacelyna... wait... you glance up and see your tail wrapped up around a shard of metal.  You quickly climb back up and roll over into safety.  You lay there on your back, breathing heavily.  "I. . . I should be dead. . . How?" you murmur.

Quote from: Jacelyna
Enchantment!  Some kind of glider or wings, ANYTHING!

[6]  Jacelyna has just barely enough time to try something, Unfortunately so many possibilities are going through her head she can't focus on any one.  She ends up summoning a chicken wing.  What!  NO!!!!  NOOOOOO!!!! she screams, and then, she hits the snowy peak, dying instantly.

And this is what I slightly had in my head, bullrushing her down into the hole, also probably taking down my own character in the process.

Still, well done! I mean we dont get her cool stuff but we're not going to die!))

Aegnor stared in shock, as the Kitsune bullrushed Jacelyna into the hole that was caused by the exploding potion.

"Kitsune, whatever your name is, be careful!"

With a new sense of urgency, Aegnor rushes at the shadow Nepthym, staff swinging.

Charge at the shadow Nepthym, and attack her.

((If the shadow Nepthym is gone, then instead...))

Aegnor rushes over to Nepthym, and Heals her.

((For the record, you don't get a turn in Turn 48 now Tiruin.  Feel free to post thoughts though, because that's always fun.

Now it's essentially going to be an Initiative/damage race to see if you can save Nepthym from herself.))

Tikan had been about to rush out of cover, shoulders down, without thinking… she wondered why…

Akari’s was a noble act. Or a desperate one. They needed to make sure it all ended well, or at least do what they could.

Positioning herself between Akari and the shadow, Tikan fights defensively whilst Akari is pulled to safety.

If the shadow is gone, Assist pulling her up

Nepthym's mind decided to go dark, a mercy. It just hurt too much. She floated away...

Like a dandelion puff caught on the barbed wire fence, her soul was tethered-not quite gone, not quite here.

Memories come back, they always do. She feels an unbearable sadness, since she has so few worth treasuring. The essence of tragedy is not death-it's dying unfulfilled, great potential lost. She does not want to die now.

...

Nepthym is standing on the battlefield again-she's younger now-and still holding the banner high. Her unit waits for her in the fog-patiently. She is the last of them.

"I'm not ready...not ready to go. I know my duty...but it's not time...right?" She says, her voice hesitant.

There is no answer. Some part of Nepthym wants to go to them-there is no shame in that. They will welcome her. She will be home again. Another part of her wants to go back-to live, and breath free air. To touch, to feel. She is not ready to lie down and sleep.

But she is very tired, now.

Nepthym moves past the old memories, for they will be the death of her, a cunning trap composed of despair-she thinks of new friends, or at least partners in arms.

Mordekhai stands out-his cunning, almost boyish smile behind a helm of iron. She knows he does not pity her-for her pride would not allow that-nor does he blame her for what she has become. He...understands. There is the strength of a warrior and a humble tenderness there, a potent combination-one Nepthym herself thought she lost long ago. But who is he really? What does he mean to her? How does he really feel about her?

...If she stays here, with her family, she will never know the answers. In a flash, the fog whips away-her brothers and sister, no longer ghosts. They are alive again, if only for a moment...if only in her heart.

"Not today...not today." She says.

...

Nepthym rises-the pain is still there, black and evil. Such a pain might kill her to rise through it...

But she does rise, and it doesn't kill her...yet.

Nepthym wakes up in a blur, rolling, her blades out defensively. She can't quite see well-almost blinded by the heat, actually-but her other senses make up for it...she has to get back to cover...

Action: Break for cover, fight defensive!

((OOC: Blatant GM save!

Uhh...I can't complain. We were all going to die anyway, since she critted like five turns in a row. She did like 8 times the damage we did. And only used half her mana. You know.

Also, can you make her fate a bit more ambiguous V-Norrec? It seems a waste of a good character to just toss her into a mountain like that. Personal plot request-make her a recurring enemy. Maybe next time we'll have a chance :P ))

The...benefits of a tail, I- suppose?

Her heart was beating at a volume in which she could've sworn the others would hear if it were not for her fatigue. Akari could only close her eyes and feel the indistinct wind calm her nerves -- which were now mostly in their correct, uncharred places -- her whole body now feeling like lead due to the sudden outflux of energy.

If it was adrenaline, she didn't feel it. All she could sense was the vague location of her allies and the pumping of the broken engines. What was better, she felt no presence of the zealot nearby, only the tranquil peace of her allies.

Her friends.

She was happy that they came to save her, and at a moment like this, she was glad that she was still alive to be able to repay their kindness. Her skin wasn't burnt any longer, nor was her fur smelling like charcoal and...cooked meat. In the entirety of her stay on the ship, she was glad that there was one thing she could do right.

But of all thoughts, only that of resting came to mind afterwards. That, and breathing.

For once, I'm glad I'm a Kitsune.

((Dem ninjas.

I'm still in shock.

PPE: Dwarmin.

Was that a blatant save? I got lucky with that 5  :-\))

((I could save her, but there are many other Neophytes for you to square off against.  I want that to be the end of her story.  However, if you (as in everyone) really want me to save her, I can do that.  I just thought this would work better for story and general contentedness.))

((Fast action to move on if needed, probably adding RP to other posts.

@V-Norrec: I think Dwarmin wanted Jacelyna alive in hopes of seeing her become Ms. Fanservice. :P))

Mordekhai felt useless.

Try to tackle then swing both flail and thurible at Shadow Nep.

((Which is hilarious because you couldn't see much of anything, I just included a lot of that so you would know what was going on if the dress ended up getting ruined through battle.  Really though, the dress was supposed to be doing a good job at hiding/shifting focus away from her sizable 'assets' as Caellath called them.))

(Too bad, then. Next time V-N wanted to take a break and have me run things I would have had an aside that featured her get hit by a train or something. :P Seriously though, when did she get GagBoobs? I don't think I noted it when D was stealing her clothes, and I don't remember seeing that in her description when the fight started... Maybe I just missed it?

Also I got ninja'd. Just saying.)
