Tools and/or a way of, you know, not getting electrocuted.

You look around, trying to find something to fuse the wires together with. You even check the fuse box, but find... oh hey. There is a loose power node. You pocket the node and keep looking, but you find nothing else in this metal cage of a room.

Your knowledge of cybernetics tells you that your arms are insulated, if you had a method of fusing wires you could do so without risking electrocution. The power node could also be used as a conduit between a section of wires without using any tools if all else fails. Even connecting one or two sections should be enough to hold a charge until someone can get to the battery for repairs.

((So I've decided to make this multiplayer game with four slots plus the main. If someone wants a slot just post a character along with a small bio. There are also several characters that are in the world already, such as the crazy Marker engineer and the mysterious intruder that I've yet to fully introduce. If you want someone wants to play as them they can, and they'll have goals/equipment already. Please note that the main character will still be controlled by the forums just to keep everyone involved.))

Use your mechanical arm to break off sections of the most damaged wire, and use them as connectors for the other two damaged wires. Use a MP to generate heat to solder the salvaged sections in if necessary.

See what you can do with the power node.

Power nodes are useful little items. They can:
 - Improve power output of cybernetics, but not their efficiency
 - Improve weapon traits
 - Improve health
 - Reconnect damaged wiring

Improvements must be done at a work bench. Work benches aren't common in public areas, but areas where tools are required tend to have one in the area.

EDIT: I'll be sad if no one wants to be the intruder.

But he is more fun if none of us know what he is up to.

What he said. Best to have an air of mystery to the whole show.

You grab the second wire section which appears sliced beyond repair, snapping off portions of the thick coiled wire for the other two damaged wires. It'll be inefficient since you'll have to melt the wires together, but it's better than nothing. Hopkins and the lives of many others onboard the ship are relying on those corpses for a breakthrough that will save everyone... Still, why would someone cut the wires in the first place, and why was there a patient down here? Wouldn't he need a code to even get down here? Too many questions. There's still a job to do. You melt the first section together using your synthetic limb's fingertip as a solder. You wish that you had a soldering gun from your office, but you probably wouldn't have made it in time. As you start to solder the top of the wire together a yellow string of text appears over the morgue's door, but you can't read it from there. The same skittering sound you heard this morning behind your wall is moving overhead. A distinct metal ting is heard with each skitter. You move to the next section and do the same thing you did to the last section, trying to ignore the sound. A light blue string of text goes up above the morgue's door. Hopkins isn't going to like that you didn't find James, but you might find him on the way out.

You walk past the morgue door, and look above the door, "Temperature: -15 C". At least it didn't fail. The hallway seems longer now that you aren't running. Even if the man waiting by the stairs did cut the wires he certainly look worried about you knowing. You reach the offices again as a loud noise quickly sounds and fades. The room shakes madly, knocking several other lamps off the other desks amongst all the other things that fell. You manage to keep your footing by leaning on the secretary's desk. Several loud noises, even louder than the initial sound, can be heard from above, but there is one sound that seems even closer...

OH SHIT! Book it for the testing labs and slam that door shut! We could find something in there as a weapon!

No, we have no possible idea it is a necromorph. Instead lets go find the source of it and HUG IT.

It might not BE a necromorph for all we know. This might be something entirely different from necromorphs. Still, testing labs seem like the best bet right now.

Someone just shot their way through a door just to get away from this thing and it looks and smells horrible. You decide to book it to the right and try and find something in the labs. Most of the glass testing rooms have their lights turned out, but there is one at the end that still has its lights. Breaking into a sprint you cut across the secretary's desk, accidentally stepping on the fallen lamp which crumples with a pop as the room suddenly goes dark. The thing lets out a blood curdling call as it moves to catch you, but you won't let it. You speed up to a full sprint, passing darkened room after room. There is a loud skittering sound behind you but you can't bear to look back to see how close it is.

You pull at the glass door at the end of the hall, the only lit testing room, and it's unlocked. You slam the door behind you and quickly type in your pin as fast as you can to seal the room. Through the glass you see the creature leaning on the glass wall. It leans it's body back and slams into the glass, but the wall holds, not even cracking. It tries it again, but bounces. The creature wanders off, back towards the receptionist's area, but you only manage to watch it until it's two rooms away.

The testing room is a glass box with a light hanging over the middle, illuminating the room. There is a bullet proof glass shielding wall just beside you, and in the middle of the room there is a small device wired up to a mount. Further down the room there are a series of targets, paper circles with rather large holes peppering the middle of the black circle outline. You remember approving this project a month back. It's a firearm that uses energy from a synthetic arm to fire shots. You also read reports about its power inefficiencies and their request for more power cores to boost damage output enough to justify the energy use. From the looks of the holes you think that they might have done it. It'll take a moment to undo all the screws, but you don't hear any skittering, so you take it, even if you choose not to use it. Outside the mount the firearm looks like a small pistol, but then again if it draws power from your arm so it doesn't need to be big.

Behind the shielding wall there is a workbench.

Lets hurry back out so we can hopefully find the hostage before a space-zombie does.

(I'm glad we went this way... I'm not sure we would have survived if we went to our office or ran for the stairs.)

Remember where this bench is and improve the impact of our new weapon, and take a light source of some kind. Radio for help quickly, or at least check the radio, then head back, looking for that hostage.
