6 Hours-Beach Patrol, +2 Time, +1 Body, +1 Swimsuit, +1 Binoculars, +1 Beach Patrol Experience

Needless to say, she had made some friends with the Celestial Academy-She wanted to be there to cheer on her Angel friend in the surfing finals. Kathryn also needed to make sure all the freaks and weirdos cleared out without causing a scene, and that odd magical leftovers were cleaned up.

1 Hour-Buying Equipment for the Gorgon Chore, Send Henry note about my job

Among other things, Kathryn wanted a burlap sack, two pairs of heavily tinted wrap around sports goggles, a large cleaver, a reflective shield like surface (possibly a polished stainless steel platter), and an cloth cover for it...

Quote from: Note Slipped to Henry

My handsome Henry

Going to deal with Gorgon at the Beach, about 2ish-trying not to hurt her, but who knows... If I'm not back for dinner, assume I got turned into a pretty statue. Which means no more worries about Styx Fever! Yeah? Well, you'd have to come get me then! If it's not too much trouble.

Kathryn Lynch, the one and only

5 Hours-Taking the Gorgon zolla cheese Chore, +1 Time, +1 Perseus Style Equipment, +1 Negotiation Skill, +1 Babel Fish (if Gorgon turns out to not speak English)

Armed with tinted glasses and a reflective shield to protect herself, Kathryn intended to confront the Gorgon down at the beach-try to convince it to relocate, and stop turning people into statues. She would offer to help the being move to a nicer clime-perhaps Greece? Maybe even giving it a temporary stay in their house.

Though she didn't want to hurt the Gorgon, turning it into stone with it's own reflection was an option, if diplomacy utterly failed. If that didn't work, Kath would just have to shoot her to death and cut off her head Kratos-style. Bleh.

Needless to say, she would bill Sapphire the cost of u-hauling all those statues back to the manor, assuming they could turn the people back into flesh and bone...

I kind of want to do the prison job instead. Mythological creatures just seems boring to RP to me.

I'd vote with you Lil, but it's 3/2 in favor of Unicorn slaying. :P

It doesn't have to be instead. We can do the prison job next time.

I wasn't joking about the zoo job sounding boring to me. I very much would prefer to never have to use a session on it if possible.

Eight hours: The heist: With Han Sola leaving town this would be the best chance that Henry would most likely ever get to steal the Orb. Total mod -4+any bonus I could get from her not being around. I am pretty sure she was planning on leaving the country today right?

Two hours: Shopping. Henry would go into town and rent a truck for the day, then he would head on over to the supply clay working store to pick up two pottery wheels. Then a trip to purchase two ounces of gold. Then a mirror. (Looking online This looks like it will cost about $4,000

Two hours: So long as he had the tuck Henry might as well put it to use. He would head on over to the beach and check on Kathryn. Both to make sure that she was not turned to stone, and to offer his help to get any statues back to the mansion.

It's essentially the same mission as the prison mission, except instead of being told to kill/capture some wizards in striped robes, we're being told to kill/capture some unicorns. And instead of Mr. Travis trying to break an ogre out of a prison, he's trying to break an ogre out of a zoo. We know for a fact that the magical creatures shouldn't be in a mundane zoo and that we definitely want to go deal with them, but there's no similar guarantee that the people being let out of prison are actually people we would object to being released. The place is probably full of werewolves that just got on the wrong side of a bigoted "justice" system.

Don't worry. You honestly think I'd send you to smash some stupid animals without any plot or RP?

Knowing our luck, they want us to do it during visiting hours and we'll get blamed if any tourists see us shooting unicorns.

blah

The real reason I find the job to be boring is incredibly rude, and I'm going to try not to say anything about it, I don't want any complications now that my berserker character who can say all those things IC is dead. That being said, I will say that I heavily disagree with your statements in that post.

Eh, I don't really have a strong preference between the two, so I'll go ahead and switch my vote: I vote for Don't Drop the Soap.

But I'm still baffled as to why you think trying to smuggle a manticore inconspicously out of a zoo would be unexciting.

I have my reasons. I don't want to be rude to you guys, and I'm not trying to strong-arm you into anything like I just did. I'll do the jobs you guys pick, but I'm going to cast my own vote if I feel like you guys picked something weird, or are ignoring the job clock. And it seems like there are some jobs better left to being done through forum updates.

Everyone is welcome to have their opinions on things. Vote for the jobs you like, but I would suggest not badmouthing a job you do not vote for, as that seems like you are insulting the GMs on their creation skills.

That said, here is some Aura Updating:

First off, Grek, I'd say that journal is worth a full 5a. The next time Tar updates the amounts.
