Azastre smiles a bit as he notices Arianna seems fine, although it doesn't take long for him to stare incredulously as she cackles. When she starts to ascend the stairs, he quickly scurries away to stay far from the crazy molesting lady.

Azastre moves upstairs and tries to heal himself.

Rod scratches his head, glancing at Ace, "Say, wasn't 'stupid barbarian' my schtick?"
"Hey, women like the tough guys, right?"
Ace says with a shrug and a smile.
Rod chuckles, "I suppose so, if not I wouldn't be here."

"Seriously?"

Rod scratches his head, then begins to tick points off on his fingers, "To get away from things. Father was after me every day for not following the family trade, and Mother was always busy. Running a county via correspondence is hard work, yanno? She always pretended that she was a princess, to boot, but Da was too small time to have a shot at rescuing one of them. Oh, and I got fired. For being 'too barbaric'. You throw one damned abacus...

Anyhow, there was also a cruel and malicious rumor spread by gods-know-who about, ah, the boss' daughter and myself. So I had to head off rather quickly, and as it turns out barbarianing—is that a word, barbarianing?—is a better profession than balancing a merchant's accounts, at least when you're on the road.

What about you? Looking for a wingman," Rod questions, winking.

"Nah. Just following my dreams.

Back home, in the city, I was a waiter, essentially. My dad ran an inn, we lived above it, and I did odd jobs there. People came in, told stories, left. Normal adventuring inn/tavern stuff. One guy though, got a nickname of Ravenhair Deadeye. Name's pretty self-explanatory, of course. He comes in, with this jacket on, and two revolvers, each one seems as big as my arm. Says that they've taken out 100 man gangs, but never a life. These stories of his though, they get women to him like no other story, or really, anything, except booze.

So, one day, I ask him, "Ravenhair, how do you do it? How do you come up with these stories?". He tells me they're true, n' hands me this this little snubnose revolver, puts it in my hands, alongside a few rubber bullets. I got the message. So, from that day onward, whenever I get some spare time, I'm training with that little revolver, nailin' shots into this little wooden bullseye out behind the inn.

Few years later, I decide to go and finally make make my name as a revolverman. I hear about this tower, and I head off."
He shrugs.
"Yours is better."

Rod prances upstairs after finishing his short conversation with Ace.

Ace 2 is too busy talking to think of anything.

Shadow runs up the stairs.

Kahn heads up, as does Arianna, who also laughs like a madwoman. 1 She trips on the first step and almost falls, were it not for Kahn's helping hand. She goes up the steps a bit more carefully.

Azastre 4,5,2=11 HP healed. He heads upstairs.

Ire carefully slips upstairs. Her lizard rather ruins the effect, wantonly wrecking the wooden railings with its bludgeoning tail while wandering up the stairs. ... Maybe it serves as a diversion?

Floor 17

The stairs start to change texture from the boring, practical wood and stone into a more fanciful material as the party climbs them. The increasingly transparent stairs are a dim green, and the middle pillar the stairs spiral around is a brown, crystalline pillar with specks of dark black or brown inside it. It is polished to a mirror-like sheen, and you can see your stretched-out or distorted face reflected in it. The steps turn into slabs as compared to solid steps somewhere along, and the floor reveals itself to be a semicircle, with a huge, black plane of glass (also reflective) passing through where the center of the room would be. A set of jet black stairs stand in the center, half embedded in the glass. The floor is pale white, and also transparent, made of tiles that are tinged with opaque white. Endless void stretches beneath the floor, and four rough pillars of rock, engraved with green glowing lines seem to suspend this room's four 'corners'. A huge white mound of fur is crouched in front of the stairs, hiding its head.

Juha, Zalgo, and the robot are standing right in front of the exit to the steps up to this room. Gretel is sitting on the floor, halfway between the fur mound and the stairs, with her legs in a V-shape. Her macabre weapon is set next to her. Popo follows Azastre upstairs, trailing her broomstick behind her.

An eerie melody, which sounds like a whistly pipe organ with a few deep notes, along with clinking chimes drifts from somewhere. The room has no walls. One step away from the floor's boundaries is deep oblivion.

Kahn looks for something to plug his ears with. Whatever that sound is, it can't be good.

"No, you really can understand me and love annoying me, you smart lizard." Ire mumbled to herself as she crossed the steps up, leaving the 16th floor with its seemingly unending war between two factions.

"Or maybe you're just keeping tabs on me, signalling anyone interested with noise from your tail. And you've no retractable spikes...really, I just want to see how things are from your point of view.

"And I'm talking to myself..."

She then heard the ambient song of an unknown source.

"Either something bad, or...wait, preferably something bad. Maybe some charm by hearing. I'm not sure, I never liked listening to organs." she muttered.

Examine the white mound of fur and try to ascertain what it is. Greet Popo and Gretel, then train Animal Training on the Lizard, by attempting Diplomacy with it, ordering it to...examine the edges of this room, and preferably try to reach as high as it can upwards.

Ace watches Ire for a moment before turning away.
"Great. She's lost it."
He went over to Popo, and asked her a question.
"Do you know how to use this staff and crystal I picked up?"
Then, he asked Gretel the same.

"I, uh, I think it might be a good idea to not dismantle everything around us this time."

Examine the white furry thing... from a distance.

Go examine the mound of fur from a reasonable distance away. Also try to summon a small orb of fire.

Arianna glanced around at the strange place, humming along to the music. She was feeling unusually cheerful, after all.

She sat down near Gretel, watching her allies watching the white thing.

"Thanks for your assistance down there," she said, glancing at the redhead. "Can you do very much with fire magic?"

Rest, attempt to heal. Talk to Gretel.

Azastre sits down to take a breather and check his inventory for anyting useful. He then has an idea and approaches Popo.

Azastre asks Popo about the strange coin with the tower's image.
