If anyone wants to go to the base I will be hanging out at the spawn point (Not lightshore) for about half an hour starting now, then I will be walking on foot to the base. You can /tell me by the name Trilobitten

We've gotten an initial base established, and we're working on a permanent settlement. The biggest problems are transportation and the untamed wilds nature of the location

We can send a rowboat or two to Lightshore for pickup, but it's an hour and a half trip one way and nearly an hour back (faster with more rowers), and it takes one sailor to pick up two passengers. Combine this with the fact that there are a lot of vicious creatures around and more constantly appearing; we might have someone off working on their own eaten by a spider, then we group up for some dwarven justice and take it down, then a few hours later someone else gets attacked by a giant scorpion. The transportation makes for a large death penalty, so my suggestion is to be careful if you're moving around alone.

Some people have walked, so maybe if we can find a reliable route we can use that for getting players to the Twelfth Bay and reserve the boats for valuable cargo.
