Like I said, unless this is a non-pvp server a coastal-bay village will be destroyed unless it is well defend quickly
Then we just have to move fast.

You will need dirt walls, tall ones. Houses of atleast 50ql (only 50 because herpaderp not much more newbs can do) along the top of the dirt walls. Stone walls of atleast 50ql, low is fine, but those are inner walls. A mass amount of gates inside of the village, a tower imped to a QL high enough to spawn max guards, a hidden tunnel to act as the villages only entrance and then usually people go as far as another layer of dirt walls around the token with houses just as the first, or a raised platform, or a ring of dirt walls immediately after the first set...

O, and these dirt walls must be flatraised, and I doubt anyone here has the high digging skill required, or the appropriate masonry, so you'll need to hire people with those skills. ++ youll need someone with high carpentry to plan the houses

Not putting you down, just saiyan as your friendly neighborhood defense advisor.
I think Epic is faction-based.

From what I see, unless they have different vessels to changeover, few would want to raid such a place. They would just raid the noobspawn town.

I know nothing about Serenity, but IF factions can come in and raid, they wouldn't want to raid such a place because its too difficult and requires too much work and far too much time. But if not properly defended people will raid for the drain money, for the sport of it, for the potential loot and the potential kills. Noobspawn offers less rewards (you might get some kills... noob kills, nothing good), and more risk being central, not to mention people want the noobspawn to feel secure and BE secure to attract more noobs.

People rarely raid starter deeds, and if they do, they do to show off and to hit at enemy morale. And I hope theres plenty of deeds on Serenity, or else itll be even more prime bait. Unless you get a lot of people to quickly throw this place up theres a huge chance of being cleared out by random looters, especially same kingdom, and theres also a chance of some random dude(s) coming along and killing potentially everyone.

Unless other factions can't invade. If theres no risk of other factions, no fear of people coming along to raid or anything like that then np

If they aren't eaten by bears.........

I'll be happy to grind wood products later today(night) and hopefully hitch a ride. If not I am sure I can manage my way there in a few days as I learn ship building and etc skills.

As I type, the intrepid survey expedition has located a colony site and is putting together a small staging base.

Once it's done I, at least, will sail back and pick people up. However, the main obstacle here is getting past Lightshore's blockage of the channel. If people could meet me at lightshore it would be an easier trip. If you can complete the third boat, people could sail it to Lightshore and then switch to the other boat when it arrives.

Edit: Now on the way.

Well, there's a map in the first post. The safest way would be to finish one of the boats, load it up with supplies, sail across the lake, drag it through the channel, and sale across that lake; you'd end up at Lightshore. The faster but more dangerous way would be to head right along the lake, then skirt around the mountain before following the shore of the other lake up to Lightshore.

Map. The old site is in the patch of moss in J8.

Edit: Alternately, I could pick people up at the town across the thornbushes from the temp base. I'm in game as Bremen, PM me if you want to arrange a pickup.
