I tried telling that to my dorfs    but they went ahead and made me worthless junk anyway.

if anything you should know that just because a dorf is suppost to do something one way doesn't mean that they wont go ahead and do something else instead. hell that's practically required by dwarven law.

Just had this bit of intelligence happen to me.  I stationed a marksdwarf in a room at the bottom of a pit, locked the door, and cancelled his orders.  I set his labor to Hunt and pitted a badger into the room.  When he was just standing around doing nothing, I saw he had no equipment at all.  Then a closer look showed that he had dumped all of his gear on the floor.  Including his crossbow and quiver.  Either I messed up the orders somewhere or he's just an idiot.

Edit: he must be an idiot.  I have the schedule for his squad set up to be uniformed when not on duty.  There was no reason for him to do a striptease for the badger.  Hmm, it was a badger sow too, didn't know he was into that sort of thing.

Was he still active as a military dorf? Hunters have an equipment "uniform" which conflicts with the army uniforms, resulting in weird behavior.
