Of course I'd prefer it if the point was "Make a mistake and you'll lose even more people", but...

That's implied. Even if you don't make actual mistakes, you could still find yourself flanked by a surprise!Floater and have your best soldier killed. Now, if you were making actual honest-to-Armok mistakes, you might lose your entire squad.

That is sad... the only time one of my guys even got hit on easy was when the enemy managed to target one of my units through perfect cover (which I swear is a glitch and not a feature)

What is sad is that it could shoot through the EVEN TOUGHER object then the one that could have entirely blocked plasma.

I am still convinced the "Plasma shoots through things" is a glitch. Given that any cover would have defended my unit.

It probably stems from the fact that the hit chance doesn't take "true cover" into account. So if a unit is ENTIRELY blocked but they are still TECHNICALLY within line of sight...

They can still hit anyway. (Ehh all games can't be Front Mission when it comes to aim... actually that would have drastically improved a few things... it looks REALLY weird to use machine guns and have ALL the bullets hit the enemy with no sprey)

The reason Plasma gets this glitch is probably because the Sectoids are much shorter then their line of Sight (The game treats them like a soldier in everyway)

Not tried the demo, but wondering can you aim at objects/cover to shoot them if an enemy isn't there? Like blowing up a wall to make a hole, if you have lasers and miss you can blow open walls or damage/destroy vehicles but can you do it on purpose? (So not using rockets or grenades)

As far as I'm aware, it's not possible (but it should be). You can only target aliens in the demo.

Should be as should be when the game is released, or should be a feature in the game but it's not (afaik)?

Oh, you'd be surprised.

I suppose that was an exaggeration. Its a cover based game, even the most stupid of players will learn pretty quickly that cover = good. Getting flanked = bad. They could have easily moved a guy into cover to shoot an alien that would make it easy for him to get flanked without it looking really set up.

I dunno, I have the same problem as Neon, I like it when they don't assume i'm drooling onto my keyboard as I watch the video.

I just wanna ask a question since I haven't been following this up to avoid spoilers. But well I have a very important question.
