wash myself thoroughly and attend the feast, try to make contacts with the more important beings of Galam's Hierarchy

((i actually meant Galam, thought it's name was Goum...anyway my bad XP))

[3+20] You manage to wash your self without incident  :P and then set of to the feast.

You walk in looking quite the part and look for somebody important to talk to[6], as you do a familiar man drunkenly stumbles towards you, Commander Cerol Zach "This" started the slurring man "this... is a man I want to hire again" shortly after saying this the man fell to the floor and began to push himself up to his feet again before he started his drunken slur again "You's done good I sawy, so I gonna make you's a deal" [5] The man seemed rather drunk but still he continued "Galam needs to grow... I want you" Cerol took three steps towards you and points his finger dangerously close to your eye "To take two crown regiments and lead a..."

"Campaign?"

"Yes! He's smart too!" shouted the commander to a bewildered crowd of onlookers, you start asking him for details but he's clearly in no state to answer, if he sobers up before you can get a contract though you might lose your chance to lead a potentially very profitable military campaign when common sense reaches his head.

Sir! It would be an honor to lead an campagin, let's get you another drink. At my tent i have famous Weylandish Whisky! It tastes magnificent i assure you. There we can also work out the details of the contract.

bring him to my tent, drink one or two with him and ask him out about the details, haggle out as much as possible. Alternatively: if he is too drunk to answer any questions, prepare an contract and let him sign...of course wit the most positive of outcomes for me

"Well, you don't have a choice actually, I'm ordering you... another glass of whiskey?"



Nobody important had yet approached Kawakai about her work or apprenticeship advertisement. Neither would the queen give her an audience, something about a noble lady was holding an art exhibition, more interestingly the work being shown belonged to the architect she had collaborated with Kawakai supposed it could be worthwhile and that her work could always be left for a day or so. Just before she left she packed her medical laxatives into her bag.

Go to the art auction, also bring laxatives.

Because you... again the commander pointed his finger dangerously close to your eye[2] at this point rather than finish his sentence the commander grabbed the bottle of whiskey and took a swig straight from the container "because..." the commander mumbled as he slumped in his chair "just because!" [3]
"And how should you do it? Why don't you decide! just make Galam..." the commander searched his brain for the word he wanted to say, unfortunetly for him he couldn't find it and so settled on the next best word: "biggerer"

I thought the City States wouldn't accept ursurpers! I tell you what...let me raid the lands surrounding Ligoria, i will make it look like they did it. The Unclaimed lands will run in fear to you! To the might of Galam! And you as gracious and merciful ruler will of course protect them. And then you can take on Ligoria witht eh help of the other City States. Knocking out an opponent and leaving you with a nice bunch of Protectorates...whos that?

"Who's who? Oh, nevermind! I don't care how you do it! Just do it!" At this point the commander fell forwards out of his chair and onto the floor hmm... this ground is rather uncomfortable thought Eshir as he made no effort to remove himself from the ground, in his mind however this wasn't too terrible an event for the whiskey bottle was once again within his reach, he downed what was left of it and then went to sleep where he lay until the next day. [[Corvus McRia has gained two Galiam raider regiments]]

"Guard, what do the vials contain?"

Hyte bowed to the Queen and left with his escort to the quarters.

"I'm not entirely sure Your Highness. I have heard stories of containers like these and vague descriptions of contents. These appear to be powders and oils used as poisons of all kinds. The exacts I couldn't fathom though, I'm not a Black Alchemist. The idea a man was carrying around a variety of such substances in a simple bag on his person is just...wow. He is either suicidal, insane or more dangerous than he appears."

Your new messenger goes and comes from Shola. He has apparently spoken with the previous messenger who says that he is quite comfortable in Shola. Nothing strange has been happening, and the Lord of the land has been very gracious to allow him quarters in his manor.

The new messenger does relay that the townsfolk seemed rather curious as to the whereabouts of their own emissary. The messenger apparently provided a story about Hyte being engaged with the queen when he was dispatched to Shola. He begs forgivness but it was the best he could do to belay any suspicion that Hyte was arrested or worse.

[3] Hyte hasn't made any strange requests, only wondering about the 'party' going on. He has asked permission, with guard of course, to attend the function.

Send message to Kathos telling him about the problems of the estate, and get any former farmers or scholars to look at this plague and try to to find a solution. Travel with a small guard, along the road with any riches we have laden and showing. Have regiment following some distance away. Once bandits come, try to speak with them.[/b]

[5] The only solutions for the issue seem to be with a city of that none of the farmfolk seem to recall the way to. They just remember there was a city they'd heard of that should have the means to cure a cropblight. [4] Your 'bait' seems to work well and draws out the bandits [2] but they run as soon as you show yourself. You presume they've gone to warn the others.


Allow Hyte to go to the function, under watch of course.

[3] Your men stick close to Hyte, but just out of range to be considered general security detail. [2] Hyte doesn't seem paranoid at all about having his own security detail - diplomats should be protected anyway. [3] Hyte seems to make his rounds, introducing himself to as many participants as possible.

The plague won't be solves anytime soon, Retcyl predicted. Many were going to die, but he guessed not much could be done. Best to write to the queen; perhaps she would like to know about the state of her realm?

With the letter done, he gave it to a messanger and sent him back to the city, and the queen.

Now to deal with these bandits...They weren't likely to mess with the hatcuri anymore, but they would probably try to rob the countrymen...Perhaps something more direct would help?

Send the letter to the queen, and send messangers and scouts to look for the bandits with a white flag of peace. If found, say that they will be pardoned of all crimes and be given food and income if they stop their banditry and come and serve Ambassador Retcyl. If not, they'll be captured and be given to the queen's mercy. Should they agree to work for me, feed them the bad grain. If nothing happens, slit their throats them in their sleep. As for the plagues, look for symptoms (in both plants and animals) and further inquire into this "city". Ask everyone on the estate about it, and even ask Thunderblade. If nothing comes of it, Get back to the capital and look for scholars and libraries. Ask them about the disease and tell them off the symptoms

Those of you who decide to attend the Art Sale cannot help but be slightly impressed at what you see-at least, that is the effect the hostess was trying to get. It's not very hard to get in, actually-no one seems to be checking invitations, and you can even make out a few commoner merchants who are not being chased away.

It seems to have been taken up by several royal gazebos and a large open air tent made of fine green silk. Almost everywhere you look, help runs to and fro-valets, servers and what you assume are about a dozen of the Alanis House Guard, dressed in thick green sashes standing silently at all corners. They seem not to be openy carrying any weapons or armor, but they have an aura of silent menace all the same.

As you step inside the tent-which is fairly cool and comfortable-you are momentarily a bit dizzy. It's almost like you stepped into a spice market-exotic scents assail your senses from every angle, not only from the food but small incense burners and aromatic flower arrangements. It seems the tent is well ventilated, in any case. The effect is amazingly...relaxing. Everyone seems to be having a good time!

A small band-unseen-is playing Ligorian music to the party, but nothing formal-it's more quick, invogorating tunes that farmers and soldiers enjoy. Which is to say, common music, to a noble audience. Interesting, yes?

You notice there are long lines of tables with food and drinks on either side, and all of it is a little bit...foreign. Little fish or meat, less filling and more heavily spiced than most locals would prefer-the drinks, a multitude of exotic ales lined behind a makeshift bar that inhabits one corner of the tent-if you choose to take a whiff, you'll find your senses perk pleasantly. It's clear this stuff can get you drunk amazingly quickly, and indeed a small polite sign nearby warns you...

Galam is a known as a battle ready, rowdy country to the Northwest-a far cry from civilized Ligoria, but, It is tradition for nobles to enjoy the wonders of different cultures, isn't it? If only to remind themselves how obviously superior their own culture is.

At the front, a small stage has been set up, and the grandest artworks displayed therein-and here is where you can find Tala Alanis herself-bedecked in an long emerald dyed dress that is fairly immodest, but she doesn't seem to mind. It seems wherever you look, the young nobless is never by herself, flitting from group to group almost ghostlike, person to person, listening to everything, but not saying much. Occasionally, she'll touch someone on the shoulder, or nod her head, and for that moment she will have their attention. Then you blink, and she'll be gone again.
