@filiusenox: The term in the spriting community is Frankensteining. Basically I take parts from 2+ different characters of a similar type and edit them together into something new, then I recolor by hand. All of it done in MSPaint. :3 Retcyl and Thomas, for example, are both three different characters (Retcyl also has some hand-made edits to make him bald and noseless; otherwise his facial features are one character (edited further, of course, to give him reptilian eyes), his head is another, and his body is a third. Thomas has one character's head, another's hair, and a third's body. I had to extend his hair a bit manually which is probably why it's a bit girly. The initial length would have been about mid-cheek to chin, but I had to get it to shoulder) and Nikephoros is four. (Face, top of hair, back of hair, and armor, plus manually editing his ears to made sure the spliced hair wasn't clipping them). Tala is three (head, neck, clothing) plus manual editing (mainly on the hair; it was originally just a ponytail but it left a lot of negative space that I didn't like so I edited it to make it much thicker, which thankfully Dwarmin liked), Max is four (head, eyes, clothing, shoulderpad), and Tristan is four iirc (face + hair, mustache, armor, jacket under armor?). I think William is four as well (hair, upper face, lower face + neck, armor) plus manual editing to make it fit together better. The frame I made myself and I get backgrounds from multiple sources, although I always try to make them match the character. That's why Max is underground, Nikephoros is standing in front of soldiers, etc.
@NinjaFanofgaming: You're welcome. ^^^
