I think it makes sense to link to the statuses instead of reposting them in each turn, but it would definitely be useful to have a record of previous ones. Maybe have one file that gives the current status, and a second one that has the past statuses listed by turn. It shouldn't be too hard to just copy them into that one before changing them for a new turn.

And so, it's begun.

I've mostly decided on the format I'll be doing this in, but the few following turns should probably prove me wrong yet again.

The final update for Madness I will continue to be in development (Hell) alongside this game.

Anyway, I'd expect that the game progression will be no quicker than a turn every other day, especially considering how far away I am on the globe from most of the rest of you. I'll try not to take too much upon myself this time.

The new thread is here, and I'll be sending out PMs to the five players. This thread is now for any and all discussion and questions you might have, including about what should be possible within the universe you're in. As part of the backstory, you have the knowledge of most of the universe (well, common knowledge at least), so if you need some trivia, ask away.

Also, please look on the waiting list. I've neglected to update it, so if you've applied for it and are still not there, post again please and I'll add you.

edit: First blunder - I've only now realized I'll need to manually add linebreaks to status text, because it won't wrap when displayed in the browser.

I'm slightly worried about Acanthus's activity lately. Kashyyk, you should think up your character (or, well, re-think-up), just in case. If Acanthus doesn't show up in a day or two, I'll put him back into the waitlist, and retcon Kashyyk's character in.

Don't like to multipost, but the thread won't bump otherwise.

I'm giving Acanthus117 and Jay Kayell another 24 hours to show up, but there's a nonzero chance that they won't. Therefore, I might need two replacement players. Well, one - I presume Kashyyk is around here somewhere most of the time, so he'll get his spot. Since I can't wait for every waitlister in turn, here's what's going to happen.

If you are on the waitlist, look through the posts following this one, and then the waitlist. If none of the people who responded to this post have a higher spot on the list than you, post something like "I'm here", and if nobody else overtakes you by this time tomorrow, you'll get a player spot. If you want to save me time and don't mind doing extra typing, you can post your character right away (look in the first post for entry form). Of course, you can post even if someone has a higher spot than you, but I'll follow the list anyway, so your chances of getting in will be pretty low then.

Now, granted, you won't be guaranteed a spot (the missing players might appear after all), but don't let probabilities discourage you. ;)

Well, as noone have posted yet I might as well say it:
I'm Here!

...on the other hand I'm also pretty far down on the list with many active forumgoers in front of me, but I might as well try , eh?

Actually, only Taricus, SeriousConcentrate, and Talarion are above you, of the newly applied (and still active) people. All the others are from back during Madness I. Although I do see some of them active fairly frequently (RAM, for instance), some might not even remember this game, much less track its progress.

Come to think of it, I probably should send PMs to them all to check if they want to be taken off the list... after this little event passes. :)

And of course, Sinpwn, I'll keep you in mind in case I need someone else and the entirety of the waiting list goes absent. ;)

But there are so many names I recognise! They can't all be gone, can they?
...Suddenly, I feel very melancholic.

Also at least wolfchild is there here too.

Wolfchild is active
AtDH is active, but not in RTDs
zchris13 posted in this thread, but hasn't been online since August.
DreamThorn is somewhat active, but not in RTDs
RAM is active, but mostly in FG&RP.
Mangled hasn't been here since August.
Sir Speshkitty hasn't been here since January.
Haika is active, but in FG&RP (and recently quit Rise of Dragons RTD)
Typoman hasn't been here since August. (what the hell is up with August?)
Mcshay hasn't been active at all lately, his last post here is November last year.
Nonanonymous was last seen here in December 2009.

So, I think it's pretty safe to say that most of the earlier waitlist members aren't going to show up.

SeriousConcentrate, I believe I have your character already. So, unless Talarion, RAM, or wolfchild report in, I'll use yours.

Kashyyk, the last character you submitted was for the old starting set, you should redistribute your points.

Oh, and by the way, Sean, I just noticed that you have me down as PER 8 and CHA 5, I believe it's supposed to be the other way 'round.
