Have been in both the boy scouts AND gone to a completely different unrelated summer camp...

The camp blew them away in terms of things learned, wilderness survival, making stuff, and while I didn't attend there was a similar camp focused on engineering and large-scale-building issues with less outdoor survival stuff.

They are generally a much better experience, in my opinion. The Boy Scouts are a scam.

I was briefly in boy scouts as a kid. It really does depend on who's running the local group. Frankly, mine was terrible and in addition to doing next to nothing it was expensive. I'm not even going to touch the anti gay stuff (though I had hidden it even from myself at that point and thus no one knew).

I was in it for a very brief period of time. Brief mainly because of the blatant favoritism, homophobia, and evangelism. I then went to a Dept. of Fish and Wildlife camp the next summer, which was much better in pretty much every way possible.

So, first this kid waits to ambush the gay kid knowing he's going to come through the classroom door. After intentionally waiting to pounce on him, he does. Bully beats the shit out of him.... Gay kid turns away and bully pursues, hitting more knowing gay kid can't really fight back.... I especially like the part where he bully repeatedly hits him in the back.... Naturally, the bully is a "Good Christian." Because Jesus beat the shit out of so very many people  ....

Why yes I do believe a civil lawsuit is in order in addition to criminal charges.... Perhaps, a rather expensive one for  parents of this brat....

Good to know this still goes on like it did when I was terrified to go to school.... Only this time, thankfully someone caught the bastard on a cell phone camera. At least they have those now; yet another reason cell phones should be allowed in the classroom, silenced.

O I've seen that, and it is bullshit, especially when the kid doesn't fight back at all. I've also seen a principal blanch with fear at an attorney across his desk.... Juries love that. Rather, they hate it. Why yes, it does cut both ways....

Don't worry, allowed or not all of these things are going to be filmed by students on their cell phones. Just a fact of life these days, anything interesting is usually caught on video. And while you are the expert here and not me, breaking school rules in the creation of evidential records does not invalidate said records to be submitted as evidence in a court of law, correct?

I think they made a rather poor choice of colours, my brain tends to associate by colour spectrum, and while it can easily register blue being higher than purple, it has trouble shifting yellow to lower than red. Especially after how many games I've played (health goes green, yellow, red, stupid!).

Anyway, have you noticed that populations seem to prefer to settle on the east side of landmasses?
Colonization explains some of it, but seriously we're like frigging moss.
Do you suppose this is related to environment? Does the subconscious say, "I like to be closer to the rising sun"? Does the east just have a better climate for some reason? Or am I just reading into things too much?

Also, you know how Britain is a modest lady? Well Africa is looking a hell of a lot like a face in that map. I mean seriously, I had to clean masonry out of my underwear when I saw it.
