[offtopic]Before anyone says werehuman, know that were means man in old saxon (or something like that)[/offtopic]

So, that means dwarfs can't be were-beasts... Now what is dwarf in old saxon (or something like that)...

Also, the most filthy kind of were creature; were-elf!

Werehippo

I wonder if non-humanoid races can be transformed by the moon into things, like a rat that turns into a dragon or a saltwater crocodile that turns into a cave crocodile.

So, that means dwarfs can't be were-beasts... Now what is dwarf in old saxon (or something like that)...

I'm guess "dweorh" or "dweorg" would work. Or we could just use the formula [original species][transformed species], with "were" being used just for humans. So a dwarf that turns into an elephant would be a dwarfelephant, a wolf that turns into a man would be a wolfwere, and an ant that turns into a lion would be an antlion.

^Very funny.

wereflesh balls!
You know how when you turn into a werewolf your clothes break from increased size?  When you turn into a fleshball your SKIN is ripped off.
Mayor: Please help us adventurer!  There is an evil beast lurking around the village!  We found a human skin in old man jenkins' house for the last 3 months.  People have been hearing mysterious squelching sounds at night! Save us, before we are all devoured by this mouthless menace!

This thread got me a little bit worried about the amount of were-creatures(or creature-creatures).
There is the contamination, which I am afraid might lead to a point where most living creature changes to  some other creature during full moon(or whatever launches the transformation). Imagine when every full moon, in every place, everything turns to something else and starts ripping the throats of everything it encounters.

Were(cave)lobster
Were(magma)crab
Werewhale
WERECLAM! (or in this case weremussel I guess)

On a side note, DF really needs more giant enemy crabs.
