Necro'd for new information -

So the "Initiation Station" character creator is now live for those with promo codes, which were bundled with Red Faction: Armageddon.
However, there's also a way to claim a limited number of access keys through GameSpot (free GS account required) links are here: X360, PS3, and PC (steam).
I'd recommend the PC version simply because there's no link to it on the main site and I had to guess at the URL to get to it, so I'm assuming there've been less keys claimed.

The Creator features a Spore-like ability to share your characters on the Saints Row website, and similar rating/tagging community features.

Had a bit of fun with it so far, though I've noticed that the layering of clothes has been significantly cut back from SR2. Also missing is the ability to set default facial expression. Hoping that this is just due to it being a limited demo. Despite this I've had a bit of fun with the creator so far - you can see my abominations here. It's also good to see the stylised graphics in action - they look fantastic.

Posting to watch because awesome awesome awesome.
SR2 was great, the successor seems to be getting that to the extreme.

I like the futuristic style, Volition is good with Hi-Tech stuff.

What.

What.

What the fuck.

That can't be real. This can't be real. Volition has lost their goddamn minds. I also remember thinking that the "spacemen" scene in the trailer looked a lot like Red Faction. Then I remembered that Red Faction takes place a hundred years after Saints Row and that Volition owns the rights to both games, so all bets are off on how much overlap there will be.

Mars was originally colonized by the Ultor Corporation. You know, the one that in present day is known as Ultor-Saints Media Group. This is fully canon as being the same group from the Saints games.

Slight mistake, THQ owns the rights, Volition is making them.

Arbitrary distinction. The point is that they can use content from both games to whatever degree they desire.

True.

In any case, I just hope I can run the game. The 2's recommended reqs are 3's bare minimum.
But then again, this won't be a port, like 2, so it should be more optimized.

Well, I might just pre-order, so I'd beat you both.

It'd be the first game I'd buy in two years. /dirtypirate
