Sorry 'bout the Delay folks, School has been rather rough and Shogun 2 distracted me evenmore.

Mission 2: Commence



You decide to go with a three-pronged assault on this one, with Shield helping the tanks and everyone else split up between the southern road and the Gully.
Almost as soon as you enter sensor range, your Coms pick up a radio signal, a call for your surrender which goes quite ignored by your troops.

Panther picks up three enemy mechs on his scopes, but nothing else They are divided with 1 at each bridge and another near the factory. Returns from signals further inside the base are of little help as the number of buildings, vehicles, debris, and other factors confuse the scanners beyond any hope of detection.

You manage to catch the transmission from  Panther right before you enter the gully. a good thing too, as something about the gully makes it nearly impossible for you to use your instruments properly. what this means is that whilst you can't contact your teammates, the enemy most certainly cannot detect you either.

'Course, the enemy could do the same thing to surprise your troops as they cross the bridges. And considering that the gully is littered with all sorts of rubble and boulders......

You climb up the side of the hill with little difficulty, exposing yourself to the targeting sights of pretty darn near everything. On the upside, you now have an ID on the mechs you can see:

As you leave, you hear with hunter give a short shout of surprise and see a breif glimpse of movement in the gully

You close to short range with the mech, a warhound, on the long bridge.  It opens fire with its laser as you approach
To hit: <hidden + hidden> VS <2 + 1 (close combat)> HIT
Defense 1 + 1(close combat)
The shot impacts your Plasma cutter, seperating it from your mech. soon after, a volley of missiles impacts the warhound, blowing it to smithereens and dealing moderate damage to the bridge

You move to follow paladin when something in the gully breifly catches your eye. Funny it looks almost lie some sort of mech-ANDOHMYGODITJUSTOPENEDFIRE

the stream of bullets cut mere inches in front of the cockpit, but you manage to dodge the salvo. You turn to engage, but the contact vanished before you could spot it. From what little you saw, however, you could tell that the mech was heavily customized.

Open fire at long range, then close the gap.

You lock on to the closest mech, a warhound guarding the long bridge, as Occam charges, and promptly gets his arm shot off.
The missiles finish locking on and you fire a quick salvo
to hit <1+1(range) +1 (target tracker)> VS <Hidden>

Well, you certainly hit something vital. the warhound went up like a frigging firecracker. The explosion damaged the bridge somewhat, but as long as nothing too strenuous happens you should be okay.

The Warlord guarding the factory opens up at you with its artillery

Defense: 4
You manage to dodge away, preventing anything more than a glancing blow. Unfortunately, that glancing blow wrecked you scanners. you're now dependent on everyone else for targetting data

Much to your surprise, the enemy mecha decides to do the same thing, clearly intent on dishing out some melee damage. Your computer identifies it as a "warrior" but is unable to give any more intel.
You open fire with your laser as it charges

Well you most definitely nailed the bastard, but it didn't do a whole lot of good. It moves in to attack you with  its plasma cutter
to hit <hidden+ hidden> vs <3>
Defense <2 +1 (walking tank)>
The cutter impacts and cuts pretty damned deep, taking out the targetting optics on the laser. you can still use it, but it will be inaccurate as hell

Shortly after, the tanks open fire, destroying the warrior's gun and driving it just out of melee range
