Roll to pilot a mech [mission 2]

You are a pilot, specifically a mech pilot straight out of boot camp. You work for The Coalition of Sovereign Nations, an alliance that controls most of the Free world. They are currently engaged in a bloody struggle with the evil Divine Empire. naturally, you enlisted to join the fight. Now that you have graduated, you'll be sent to the front lines of the war along with a 4 other pilots and their mechs.

But you are getting ahead of yourself. first, you need to fill out the following form

Pilot skills: Eagle Eye
Mech: A quadrupedal mech based on a spider-type design, it has a humanoid torso and arms for holding its weapons. Its head resembles a skull. The mech is left unpainted save for the pilot's callsign down the left arm.
Mech traits: Recoil Stabilizer
Weapons: 105mm Abrams Rifle (Ballistic Medium) / 200mm Artillery (Ballistic long)

Mech: A humanoid mech, but with one arm enveloped by a thick shield.  It's painted a vibrant shade of red to attract the attention of the enemy.
Mech traits: Walking Tank
Weapons: GRZ Medium laser (Energy Medium),  50 Caliber Autocannon (Ballistic Short)

Mission 1 Briefing
Operation Round Hammer

The empire has had us on the defensive for a good while now, but no longer. We're launching a counter attack aimed at retaking North Africa with the ultimate intention of giving us a foothold to strike at the Empire's oil fields in the Middle East. We will be accomplishing this via an amphibious landing in Libya.

Your squadron will be deployed behind enemy lines. Your objective is to ambush and destroy an enemy convoy that will be delivering troops and supplies to the main force's landing site. they will be approaching from the south east, heading north west. Here is a satellite map of the area:

As you can see, there are three major features in the combat zone. The first is a large gorge to the east. The second is a small, abandoned settlement roughly in the middle of the area. and finally, the road the convoy will be taking.

We believe that the convoy will be lightly protected, with no more than 3-4 enemy mechs. If things get too tough, you may be able to call in an airstrike to help you out.

You should arrive in the area roughly an hour before the convoy arrives. use that time to position yourself to ambush the convoy.

"Command, Vanguard reporting. Drop me in the town." Hmm, just occurred to me. How big are our mechs? A little bigger than humans, like VS in Lost Planet 2, or huge, like Armored Core?

Mechs are roughly 2-4 stories tall. if it comes to hiding yourself behind a building, you can assume your mech is capable of crouching low enough to hide itself
