@Ahra: Taric's right, it just takes practice. In my case I started RPing on forums around 1998 but I didn't really consider myself a decent character writer until late 1999 / early 2000, when I was able to start stretching my posts out to about two paragraphs on average... even though my characters still tend to have the same core personality. :\ Anyway yeah, the only advice I can really give is to try starting out playing a character as different from yourself as possible, as 2D as possible to start out. Then as you play the character add little personalty quirks here and there, details of their history, flesh them out in pieces. If you try to plan a character out from the start you'll get too lost in the details, but if you build them over time they'll be a lot easier to play and read more naturally.

For example, in this RTD, I'd never actually planned for Dominique to be a married woman until we started joking around about her, then I was like "...actually, that would be something interesting to add to her backstory." Plus it gave me the opportunity to saddle her with a terrible maiden name, and I love bad jokes. Anyway, that's just my two cents. :3

Middle of nowhere you can still get DSL or middle of nowhere you can't? 'Cause I'm in the latter category. >.< But yeah, it's a mile from I live to the road. I don't think I even live in a town, my address just has one listed because it's relatively close by.

I looked it up, my town is so small that it doesn't have it's own population data. I had to look up the county instead. So, the population is 31,274 across 475 square miles. I think that's like 65 people in every square mile, which sounds about right. I think my town probably does have about two, three hundred people in it.
