Here's Part 2 of that Total Biscuit video, where he plays Countdown and the Tripwire devs make fun of him while he does so.

Looks like a very promising game indeed! I haven't played the original but I'm most definitely getting this one. The tank combat seems amazing, but I'm afraid that in non-tank-only maps, the veteran players won't leave me a chance to enjoy it. Same goes for being a marksman, since they are limited to one per team from what I've read.

There are some game modes where there are no limits on the class spread. The class limits are also defined by the map maker, so, it's not like it's hard coded that way. Oddly enough class limits aren't configurable through the server, which I thought was a strange decision on their part.

Yeah, but I don't want to play TDM. Countdown is what intrigues me, and classes are limited there.

Yeah, but countdown would be pretty terrible without class limits. Too many snipers trying to be sniperly would ruin it. Also, the caps on class limits are scaled to the number of players IIRC. So in a 32v32 game, there will be more than 1 sniper slot.

About Rising Storm:

Quote from: Dealspawn
As well as completely reskinned weapons, character models and new multiplayer maps (and even a mysterious new MP gametype), Rising Storm will also boast two distinct singleplayer campaigns from both the American and Japanese points of view. The lush vegetation and plentiful water sources of the island hopping campaign will also prove to be a serious challenge compared to wartorn urban environments. Real Japanese voice actors and character models have been sought in order to provide as much authenticity as possible, including racing driver Kazuki Nakajima and the son of famous star Keiko Takeshita (who Gillham randomly met during a paintball match, as an interesting aside). Japanese re-enactors have also been drafted on board for inspiration and uniform details.

I'm pretty interested in Rising Storm, especially after the let down that was Bad Company 2: Vietnam, which wasn't exactly lush or all that jungle-y.

Fix't. This seriously started as two videos and some previews and there I started noticing them EVERYWHERE.

I'm really looking forward to this. I actually got into Red Orchestra: Ostfront, and found it one of the best games I have played. It's good to see that there are games out there with realism as well.

Of course occasionally it was annoying to get picked off by someone 200 meters away, somewhere you didn't see them, but doing it to others later was worth it ;)

If you look at the videos Nenjin posted...

I noticed the viewports don't seem to work yet... very odd... Also, your head only swivels when looking through them instead of moving around, which is a bummer.

Did anyone buy the deluxe version? Has the beta for those people started yet?

And those weapons, everyone can get those weapons, right? So I don't see the value there.

No seriously, I love spending close to an hour collecting information so people can parachute in to read the very last post. Sometimes I think people view forums as glorified IM chats.

Anyways, I don't get what's with the view ports either, they're all closed whenever he tried to look at them.

In the tanking video there was a crap ton seat switching when the commander or another role was killed. TBH it was almost nausea inducing to me the amount of screen movement there was. I'm glad they simplified the animation when using viewports.....because it would have been overkill to me otherwise.

I actually didn't buy the DDE specifically because I wanted to experience the progression of unlocking those weapons. Sure I would have liked to throw another $10 or $15 dollars TWI's way....but not at the expense of gameplay. That would be like pre-ordering KF and getting all your T2 unlocks right away.

Sometime next week, supposedly.

I wasn't referring to that, but I do hope headbob in general is lowered a bit.

I mean, when you press your face up against a viewport, when you look around your head stays in place and swivels. Instead, your head should be moving to the left a bit when you look to the right to get a better view. Not everyone has TrackIR or Freetrack.

The beta opens today for those that pre-ordered the DDE. Kind of regretting I didn't now.
