You can now pre-purchase Red Orchestra 2 on Steam!

But wait, there's MOAR!

This is why I love Tripwire.

http://forums.tripwireinteractive.com/showthread.php?t=55283

Quote
Pre-purchase Discount: 10% off both versions (20% off if you own the original Red Orchestra)

Quote
Bonuses for owners of Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45:

An extra 10% discount during pre-purchase for a total of 20% off
Unlock the Kar98 and Mosin rifle bayonets on day 1
Special in-game item - show everyone your loyalty to Red Orchestra with the exclusive Russian Guards Badge/German Close Combat Badge

And then they've got the digital deluxe edition with a whole bunch of crap.

So, by pre-ordering RO2 now, I get it for $35, when it's a $50 retail game, simply because I bought RO years ago for $5 and played 10 minutes of it. It's a ssweeeeeeeettt deal, especially since I was expecting to have to drop $100 between now and December for this and BF3, and that was not making me happy.

I didn't have quite enough money for the deluxe edition, and the benefits of it don't really interest me, so no big loss.

I am excited to pay 10 (9 really) bucks less than I though I would've have to =)

I saw that. I wonder if it's because the beta revealed tons of bugs, or something.

Could just as easily be that the Rising Storm team is behind schedule.

Looking forward to this game, im actually gunna buy this instead of BF3 ( i think its released the same month and i can only really justify one game per month)

Just hope its popular enough for there to be a lot of MP gaes going on, but i am also looking forward to a campaign mode too.

Still unsure on how well this whole "Hero" thing will work.

I guess the press embargo is up, so one of the TWI forum mods took about 100 screen shots and put them online.

http://csnation.net/showthread.php?380290-More-Shots-from-Red-Orchestra-2&p=3259800#post3259800

Compared to games nowadays, TWI's level of map design, while nice, looks a little barren to my eye. Then again they aren't a multi-million dollar dev house using the absolute best technology out there. But I'm strongly reminded of the game's mod roots in older UT engines, because it still kind of shows even now in RO2 using UT3.

The tank interior shots though, man. Those are so amazing and I can't wait to hop into a tank with friends.

Wow, this actually sounds pretty good, especially the not immediately knowing if the person you shot is dead that makes things so dramatic WWII:OL style. I only watched the trailer with the grandson asking his grandfather about the battle of Stalingrad when he only played red orchestra.

Looking good to me. What i imagine a lot of people are worried about is the skills system. From what I see it looks like your reload speed etc. levels up as you use the weapon.

I think it would have been nice if they gave you 100 points or something and you can distribute them into whichever skills you want most... or something.

Here's a good 20 minutes of game play and dev interviewer, with plenty of swearing by the dev.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bcvyeekjq_s&feature=player_embedded

Game looks pretty sexy. I can already see that they went slightly overboard on the bloom/blur, but it's probably for the best to soften the look of everything. Really can't wait to get my hands on this, it looks like it plays very well.

Aaaannnnndddd here's a long awaited official trailer that finally delivers some intense combat.

http://www.gametrailers.com/video/exclusive-gameplay-red-orchestra/719542?

Looks pretty damn intense, and that was probably only with a max of 15 people present in any one clip. It's been so long since I've played a 64 player server game, I'm starting to remember how batshit crazy they can become.

Of all the trailers/videos I've posted in this thread, this is easily the sauciest.

Wow, it's nice to see some actual, (somewhat) raw gameplay for once =)

It would be nice if someone recorded a whole round or something.

EDIT: Oh I didn't see the post before about the dev interview, I have to check that one out.

It's not so good. 3v3 or 4v4 single-life mode. The dev splits half of his attention between camping in a corner so he can talk, and trying to remember what he was talking about after he sees someone. Still, it's a chance to see the game get played and most of the screens and shit get pulled up. Which is what you don't get with an ultra-dramatic montage of people getting pwned.
