I thought of this, of course.  I mean, I'm the guy who had the colony in the other arm in the previous round, remember?

True, hahaha didn't remember that.

Also, I thought about something really smart today.

If I name a Sector "Orgasm", would people say stuff like "Hey, I just reached Orgasm" or "We're at the Orgasm Sector, let's keep going" and even "Please, make me get to Orgasm!"?
I love how everyone ignored this. And he even thought of this. They'll probably find you and horribly maul you, for they are smarter then they appear over the internet.

Crap, sorry Dragonshardz. I never seem to be on when you're on. Can we get some of the other folks to invite him? I think senators can invite, and we have lots of those.

I'm thinking maybe we need a different second in command. Naxza's a good guy, but he isn't on much - and when he is I'm usually on. Should probably get someone who is on when im not. I could just make Naxza sector governor of Serenity sector.

I was thinking maybe Gabeux since he's in another time zone, seems to be pretty active, and knows what hes doing - but im open to suggestions. And seeing as I'm not online when im not online, I don't know if hes active when im not around or not :D

What do you guys think? And Gabeux, would you want to be the second?

What's the proper procedure if you want to create your own race and then transfer over to Starborn Dominion while keeping that race?

Just create the race (as a new empire, or as some other open empire) and ask someone to invite you.

Does Diplomacy freakin' work yet? I tried it with the Red Team and Blue Team and we couldn't vote.

Oh thanks for thinking on me man. hahah
Sure, I could be. But I'll only be this active until next month, which my college is going to start again and I WILL have to study....  :'(

We could do so for now though, we'd need to discuss certain things like our posture towards other empires, etc.

Also today I couldn't login all day, but tomorrow I'll be on.

Sizik you can try talking on Diplomacy chat so I can see it and send the invite.

By the way, something REALLY weird happened, and it seems I'm the only one affected.
After entering a wormhole, my game rollbacked 1 hour ago (or more).

I had lots of tech on my cargo and not much money left, also I had eaten the food on my backpack.
I minimized the game...and when I looked back, I was orbiting the planet I was orbiting when I started playing (where I left my ship yesterday), with no tech, my money back, and the food in the backpack again.
So yeah, my system or sector rollbacked, I entered a space-time wormhole or something.

And NOBODY ELSE
This is me:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

--
Suddenly [after going through some really weird wormhole travels] I de-rollbacked and everythings normal.
And don't believe anything people say about me, they're all jelly of my space travel skeelz.

Everyone hates me and ignores me because I can travel time.
I understand it though, you can feel the jellyness when my worker servers crash.

Hey people, please don't put the TL of the ship in it's design / ship name.
As the biggest and most awesome empire everyone will want intel about us, limiting it will be better for our interests.
No one needs to know we are TL30 already, seriously, so please stop posting on public places about it.  :P

There were some folks on hail talking about a really neat strategy.

Building a ton of SMALL cities to act as nothing but fortresses.

See... Each base gives you a -1 penalty (which is ignored for the first N bases if your city is very large).  But think about it.  Small city.  Church, +2.  Cantina, +2.  Food, +2.  Loyalty, uh...It's either +1 or +2, I don't remember.  Low taxes, you'll probably get +1 or +2.  So all in all, you have at least six morale points, maybe as high as nine, that you can blow on base penalties while still maintaining a perpetually positive population growth.  Oh yeah, and since the city's so small, loyalty grows pretty darn fast.

So you have one big city that has a lot of farms, a lot of power generation, whatever.  And then you line it with a bunch of itty bitty cities that have a magmium condo, big church and cantina, fire station probably, road connection to your main city (land connection is required to share power)...and a crapton of bases.  And that's it.  You build as many of those as you damn well please.  Someone wants to land on your planet?  Yeah, that's nice, you have ten fortress cities with eight lasers apiece.  Kaboom.

Oh and while I'm on the subject.  Missile bases currently function as lasers, so don't be afraid to build them--they do work.  And word on the street is that shields cover a range of 7 tiles, +1 per tech level (oh yeah that's fecking big).  Is that radius?  I'm not sure, but I'm guessing yes.  (I don't know exactly what shields do to be honest.  Or if they overlap.  Meh, I repeat what I hear.)  So the optimal strategy apparently is "build one shield generator by your town square, and an assload of lasers/missiles all right next to the town square as well so they can all cover each other".  Because seriously.  Is somebody going to successfully cap one of your towers when there are seven other towers shooting at them?  Really?  No, not really, just no.  And even if they do...they've got how many other cities to work through while your empire rides in to the rescue.

According to Haxus, shield bases do not increase in radius(yes it's radius) as TL goes up. I don't think the shield effect is implemented, but they do have turrets to shoot with too.

Never even thought about the fortress-city idea. Huh...

Oh, if anyone wants to join my empire, Dragunas Dominus, feel free, it's open. I've disabled the right to found cities as an anti-griefing measure(don't want a griefer to grab the second-in-command when I'm not looking), however. I've We've mostly got Q130-Q160 stuff, but very high quality Eludium and Luminite, all just in our homesystem.
