My two cents is that I'm circumsized and I'm not a fan of having a scar instead of a foreskin.

My two cents is that I'm not and I'm very, very happy I have all my dick. One thing I have to thank my dad for, that he didn't continue that sick ritual.

It's not sick.

Because they're not newsworthy stuff.  Have any kids?  Diaper rashes are an ordinary, non-dangerous thing.  They are really painful, though, and happen frequently around small folds of skin where stuff might collect and irritate it.  The rashes I mentioned around my kid's neck are heat rash, and also really common for infants.
Diaper rashes are an ordinary, non-dangerous thing that happens whether or not your circumcise kids, and are hardly a reason to do it.

Just cut off your kid's butt and neck, then they'll never get rashes again!

I personally don't understand what the issue is with (male) circumcision.  The only people who get freaked out by it are those who weren't.  Those who are just shrug and wonder what the big deal is.

That's exactly what we are discussing about.
You didn't have the choice, so you simply had to deal with it.

It is possible to reverse a circumcision. Just wanted to throw that out there.

Not strictly true. Meaning that you can stretch the remaining foreskin, but it's not exactly a reversal

I know I shouldn't ask, but how?
Do they transplant skin from somewhere else?

It was originally said that circumcision (of male... females also have a form of it, one is harmless, another is somewhat harmful depending on your viewpoint, and the last is very harmful) was done because it was cleaner.

Later they found evidence that it was true... Though it was mostly because people didn't properly clean it.

Then there is some sort of evidence somewhere that it helps prevent postate cancer somehow (I am not sure how...) even with people who clean properly.

I am uncircumsized.

As for why both sides find it odd... well... People who are circumsized generally are surrounded by people who are. People who are not are likewise surrounded by people who are not.

It is like finding youself in a town where people shave themselves bald.

As for Female Circumcision (I cannot spell that word) the problem with it is while there is a harmless version of it... it isn't the most practiced form.

That is a stupid and offensive comparison. Please stop doing that.

I believe that G-d said people must be circumcised for health reasons. I believe the same for the laws of Kashrut.

As I mentioned in...hell, I don't even remember what topic but I don't think it was this one...if you fought in World War I, my god you were thankful if your parents had you circumcized.  Trench warfare was damp and unsanity for long periods of time.  The phrase "rotted off" comes to mind.  It didn't happen to everybody, but it could have happened to you.

Honestly, I think Female Genital Mutilation is probably the more appropriate terminology.  It's not really like circumcision at all.

So the phrase "female circumcision" will hereby be taken out of the Bay12 dictionary.

More proof of the original reason of circumcision.
