When someone mentions zombies you think of groundhogs and carp.

when approaching a computer you can hear the dwarf fortress background music, even if the computer is off.

Yeah.  Thus why I didn't make a trap.  In it's current state the fortress didn't need a trap, the whole damn fortress is a trap.

I was watching the Futurama episode, "Jurassic Bark" when Bender throws Fry's fossilized dog into magma.

Doctor Farnsworth said that the dog was probably still intact since he was made of dolomite.  I found this to be plausible since I knew that dolomite was a magma safe stone.

""Indeed! You see, that fossil was made of dolomite, the tough black mineral, that won't cut out when there's heat all about! By contrast, observe the lava's effect on this ice swan!" - Doctor Farnsworth

Just spent a week in a 'wellness' hotel, and while my girl was being pampered, I went and visited several mines.
a slate mine a tetrahydrate mine (I think, it used to produce lead, silver and zinc), one cave system with limestone stalactites etc.
Also collected samples of rock.

Every light switch in your house is linked up to so many things that you don't even remember what half of them do.

Oh god I got that so bad. I accidently linked my "Flood the water system with lava" lever mixed up with my "Open floodgates so water can get in to well cisterns in case of siege" lever. Needless to say all my injured died.

That's why you color code them. I use Red for Magma and Blue for shutting the gates. Wait no it's red because it means stop coming into the fortress and blue because the magma reservoir area is blue. Wait it's "Red your Dead" and "Blue your Screwed" so you die from the magma but if you get trapped outside by the gates and are therefore screwed... because your about to be dead? Eh I think I need to build new levers.
