No. I suppose there are similarities, but I'm fairly certain angry birds doesn't let me charge into a battalion of knights with a car made of circular saws.

Unknown to most but the insane and the mystics, Tarran is actually Earth itself, as Earth is sentient like that planet in Avatar. Originally Earth used names such as Terra on the internet, but to protect it's identity it changed letters, now becoming the Tarran you know today.
Quote from: Ze Spy
Tarran has the "Tarran Bug", a bug which causes the affected character to repeatedly hit teammates while dual-wielding instead of whatever the hell he is shooting at.

An old one but still pretty memorable: in Command and Conquer Renegade, part of the challenge of getting in the enemy base is the massive one-hit-kill defense tower that each base has, which kills almost anything instantly and sees through cloaks. I got lucky once and managed to land in a server where the players were pretty cooperative, so I hatched a plan:

1). The player who was currently in the Orca would land
2). As many players as can fit would climb on top of the Orca (not enter it, physically jump on top of it)
3). Hope to God we didn't fall off while the pilot flew top-speed into the base's side entrance
4). ???
5). Destroyed enemy base

I wish I could say I went down in a blaze of glory, but as soon as the Orca got to a significant altitude I fell off and died. Three players and the pilot ended up making it there and successfully landed, but they were killed pretty quick.

You... you can fly orca's in multiplayer?  WHY CAN HAVOC NOT DO THIS?!
Campaign in that game was brutal on the highest difficulty.  I remember plenty a death at the hands of enemy flame troopers.  And one time when I planted a nuclear missile beacon, didn't move, and lived.  With only two health remaining, but that was still a rather good accomplishment.

You don't get the Orca in single-player? That's lame, I played through almost all of the campaign waiting for that. Flying the Orca definitely takes a lot of skill. Once you buy one you'd better hoof it before some asshat steals it, and then IIRC it doesn't take much to shoot one down. A good Orca flier is definitely worth their weight in points when it's time to charge the enemy base though.

Set off with the last 200 survivors of Earth to found a new colony on Alpha Centauri.  Settled on a Mars-like planet, died within five turns of bringing the colonists down because I forgot to bring more than one turn of air.  Restarted, remembered to pack enough life support, cut down the number of people rescued to 100, and died because I parked my colony too far from the nearest mine and couldn't finish the road and trucks before I ran out of PrecA, which I needed to maintain the facilities producing my air.  I say, this whole notion of "breathing" is entirely overrated.  Tally ho, and let us try again when we aren't passing out from maths-induced so-late-it's-early exhaustion.

Did you try running it in compatibility mode, by any chance? Sometimes that works with other older games.

Yeppers.  It's one of those early games made when 16-bit architecture was still standard, but after Windows 95 had supplanted DOS.  The architecture's hopelessly obsolete, so it's no longer supported at all by Windows 7, and since my copy is not so old that it ran in DOS, DOSBox won't work with it.

You can install windows 3.1  under DosBox and run your 16 bit windows apps. Although it sounds like you are doing fine with emulating an XP box.

Got mowed down by a HA's LMG, got an assist on him, got resurrected by a medic, just to find another HA in front of me. Got mowed down while trying to kill him, and got an assist.
And no, it didn't happen again after that. Would have been funnier.
