I died in Operation: Taking Back Inugami Hill.
Seriously, they're super aggressive and pretty much block all gun damage. Good thing I know how to cast a bit too, otherwise I never would have finished that act.

You clearly need more lightning.  But yea, last time I played that was a brick wall to a lot of people.  I actually died once going through there with my lv 30 due to bad luck and bad timing.   Just rush after rush after freaking rush...  Whatever you do, NEVER use spin or an AoE in there...

Rolled a new character, moved a few tiles out of bed, and shamblers immediatly poured in through the windows and beat me to death. Decided to continue as my zombified self, walked outside, and as soon as I cleared the window, got shotgunned by survivors.

Super unlucky.

Probably had the worst starting position ever. A small plateau, surrounded by mountains with one exit. My starting warriors start behind a line of mountains, next to a barbarian city. Get killed very quickly. The plateau I'm on also has three barbarian cities. One of them covers the only exit from the plateau. Within ten turns of the beginning of the game Acheron makes that city his home. The city starts churning out warriors with enchanted blades like there's no tomorrow. I don't last long, especially when three Azers appear out of nowhere to attack my only city.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
now that is unlucky as hell.

I can only play on settler, else the barbarians wipe me out within a few turns. they don't give you a chance to mount a defence, just *puff* and you're gone.
I think I play on the Chieftain difficulty. You still start with a warrior, just have to make sure your city has some sort of defenses (palisade, extra warriors, archers or proper walls if possible) before the lizardmen start pouring in.

The RNG hates me.

I go to level two, kill a few baddies, OH HEY SENTRY! Running away, I open a side door and OH HEY ANOTHER SENTRY! Running away more and OH HEY ONE MORE SENTRY OH AND A BUNCH OF COMBAT BOTS, just for you!

Surrounded, I hide in a room and attempt to fight them one on one, then all of a sudden LOL YOUR GUNS ARE DESTROYED LOLOLOLOL says the RNG as my few guns are blasted away before even killing a single enemy despite two plates of light armor on my bot.

And of course, there's a gigantic mob of bots blocking the exit since I was a genius and went into a room with one exit. To be fair, at least two thirds of that mob I've never even seen before they started entering the room. Seems like the neighbor hood came together to smack me on the upside of my head.

Playing Dungeons and Dragons Online. Running Against the Demon Queen, a level 13 quest, on elite, which essentially just scales the difficulty upwards to challenge level 16's. So it's me on my 13 monk, in a pick up group consisting of two 14 barbarians, a 14 ranger, a 15 cleric, and a 13 sorcerer. The sorc is absolutely useless and hardly even casts. Since I've got Improved Evasion, I get designated as the "take the trap to the face guy" so everyone else could get through. It was pretty harrowing the whole way through, but aside from the sorc the other folks were well experienced and kicked ass. Then we get to the boss fight. Against a Marilith. With something like 20 points of damage soak unless you have a cold iron weapon. I do not. I'm managing, on a good hit, to do three damage to her, while she chases our cleric. The barbs probably could have wrecked her, but the sorc didn't take care of some trash mobs that kept dropping debuffs on them. Long story short, I'm the last man standing, trying to dodge the marilith long enough for my teammates to gtfo to the resurrection shrine and come back and save my bacon. Then the marilith tripped me and made me into confetti.

An ancient nuclear powered stone tank fired its lazor. Only the spellcaster survived, and she got hit with a suicide bomber the same turn. She should have gone back to the kitchen, really.

In another game, got one-shotted by the most arrogant bastard in existence, with an unblockable, unpreventable attack that hit my main character(game over instantly is he dies) for 1.5x his max hitpoints.

After an exhausting war against Federation (I was Klingons), I've returned my veteran, hi-tech fleets home.

In time for a visit of a Borg Cube.

A pack of beak dogs. I'd been doing really well on my very first .07 adventurer. I'd killed over 30 cheetahs, 15 hyenas and about 10 dingos, an elephant and a few night creatures without taking a single scratch. The beak dogs changed all that though. Once one of them got a hold of my leg and started shaking it, I was screwed.

After over a dozen attempts, I finally managed to make a wizard character that didn't die in the first fight. I begin exploring the first dungeon level, battling goblins as I go, and manage to befriend a lizard. Seeing as I was quite low on health, I decided to let the lizard fight the next battle, to see how it would do.

Quite badly, as it turned out. Not only did the lizard not land a single hit, but it unleashed electricity as it died, singeing the goblin slightly and killing me.

So there I am, paling around with my 40 swadian knnnnnigits and I see a massive army of nords.

NO PROBLEM

Until I figured out there was over 500 nords that ended up joining the fight.

Well poop. We got worn down to the last round, all of my knights either dead or unconscious.. just three more to go! Almost... one more guy.. I can't even see my health! Then I didn't see that axe being tossed at my head and died.
