I'm 8 episodes into the second (last) season, and feeling like things are wrapping up.
Spoiler: Nothing is wrapped up. Fucking nothing. Well, except Coop's Damn Good Cup o' Coffee(TM).
You basically just need to take Twin Peaks at face -absurd- value. Yes, many of the performances are corny or outright "bad", but we will never know if this was intentional or not. You just... Fuck, man, I don't even know.
The last 2-3 episodes go completely catshit though. Expect a whole lot of Whiskey with your Tango Foxtrot. Also, say hi to Samson making waves as 'That Other Role He Played Before Carnivalé'.
To answer your question, though: yes. Probably.
@TV: I still need to watch more of his work, I'm ashamed to say.
Still, Twin Peaks is one of the best things I've ever seen.
It turns out that S2:E8 was a funny time for me to break down and post, because the next episode actually bothered to address many issues. It's more of a season finale than Season 1 had. I'm back on board this crazy train.
(Later, because even honorary season finales deserve a pause for contemplation)
Edit: Hopefully surprising no one, Agent Cooper reminds me a lot of myself. I like to think that I'm diplomatic first in my dealings. Undeniably eccentric, which I make up for with passion. Lawful and Good, both to a fault, I like to think.
And I have a nigh-diagnosable compulsion to record my thoughts and certain events. It makes me sad to think about moments being lost. Like tears in the rain, etc.
I commentate on the world, my family, my life. But primarily, I commentate.
