My employer won't promote me to full-time, in spite of scheduling me 36-38 hour week for at least half of my employment.  Conveniently enough, when I raised concern about this, I've been cut 8 hours per week.  They state its because of budget cuts because the store is going into non-peak hours, and they'd rather hire another part-time instead of paying me another two-four hours.  It's not like it'd even be a living wage after 40 hours anyway.  Of course they expect me to still give a shit even though they just told me there's no reward other than more work for nothing.

Peak hours wouldn't happen until march, and even then I seriously doubt they will pay me then either.  The American Labor Economy.

Pretty much my experience with my college cafeteria job, only in my case it was retaliation for threatening to sue for discrimination.

Use your own power to find a better job. Let them suffer for their loss of such an exceptionally hard working employee.

Sure, I'll just use this zero work experience and worthless degree to go pluck another job from the job tree.  Not like I ended up in this current dead end after three months of searching or anything.

Also my experience with trying to find a job. Despite the fact that everyone else assumes that to be a non-sarcastic statement in reality.

So I was driving home from work at 4am and found a row of bins which had been knocked over. It'd say about six or seven bins spread over half a block which had all been tipped forward off the pavement into the street.

My initial thought was 'Well if it takes one jackass to knock over some bins, I guess it only takes one random to fix them', and promptly pulled a u-turn, threw my indicator on and hoisted them back onto the sidewalk.
Great stuff: My car wasn't stolen while I was doing this.

But now I've got a vague moral conundrum: Trolley-problem wise.

See, I left some trash piles on the road from where the bins fell. I'm all for lifting wheelie bins, but I'm not about to go handling random people's trash.
Thing is, these piles contain glass and whatnot. So I'm in a situation where I could have potentially made the road more dangerous for whatever half-asleep people would swerve around a fallen bin but will unintentionally blow through a trash pile and potentially blow a tyre.

So I guess the question is whether a half-measure of goodness is really a good thing at all.
Also brings up utilitarianism vs deontology etc.

Driving home from the grocery through a narrow alley on a hill that barely has room to pass. Edging past a minivan when the fat old fuck driving it decides that the appropriate response to... whatever upset him(?) is to try to slam his door open into the front of my car, mouth something pissy, and speed away. I don't even have a goddamn clue.
