I actually DID start with wizardry 8, and decided to dial things back because of the save imports. I WAS gonna start with 6 but I really didn't like the default portraits, and in fact had some I wanted to use that I couldn't really figure out how to get working for 6 because of giant color limitations.

So I just went with 7. So far I've managed to get to Orkogre castle, and the major difficult parts have been the fight at the jail to get the captain out and one of the fights in the barracks.

Sure there's very little direction so far but I did manage to stumble into some, when in doubt just go looting, story is sometimes loot!

Man, that series was fun and difficult. Never did beat 8, I think the computer that I had it on died, but I beat 6 & 7. Although I mostly did partial runs with crazy party set-ups. Favorite one was my All Drakon party. Amazing how useful the ability to spam acid breath was.

I also did an all Ninja party, an all Holy party, and...I think a party of all Lizardmen and Drakon. Oh, and one that was all tiny races. Probably a few others, but those are the ones that stuck with me.

Wizardry 8 was my first as well, I actually tried to beat it on the first run but ended up losing interest.  I played and beat 6 sometime after. Then years later I tried to pull a triple.   I beat 6 and 8 again all with the same party. But as mentioned I failed in 7.  I think my party was Drakon Fighter, Drakon Knight, Elf Ranger, Felpurr Ninja, Elf Mage, Elf Cleric.

Honestly, 7 doesn't seem that bad on direction or difficulty so far. I honestly expected the game to be more unforgiving coming in from a backround with gold box games and Etrian Odyssey.

Current party is a Dwarf fighter, Human lord, Porkul (Going with this because IP concerns) Thief, Human Valkyrie, Elf Mage and Gnome Priest right now.

There is nothing romantic or sexual about CPR. One should never endanger another person's life just because they're insecure about 'kissing' them.
