I remember that in a discussion on the upper boards there was a siding discussion about the viability of dwarven reassignment surgery, and it was concluded that for dwarves in mythologies in general, it should be well within their ability to create magical prosthetic dongs. I don't know how much that carries over to the dwarves in D&D, but it's a thought.

I seem to recall one fatguy sess where two of the members of their party, one a paladin and the other a dwarf had an undying hatred of orcs. See an orc, kill an orc. And there was no arguing over whether to kill an orc child was an evil act, no you kill that orc. They had both just slaughtered another warband of orcs when the paladin was knocked over a ledge by a charging orc. The dwarf caught his arm before he fell for good. The paladin's helmet fell off, revealing for the first time just what the paladin was. The paladin was an orc.

I dont like his setup. The lever introduces too many unqualified variables. I would be happier if he simply sat this device on top of the scale using a balance system.  (you can set something very large on just the point of a pin if you use a balance beam type system.)

Which is apparently a job position! I didn't know that. I do now. There's a position open at Fort Bragg :V

Oh aye, it's surprisingly legit. The only odd thing to me about it is the specificity of it* -- I would have assumed the work would have been part of a more general pediatric/obstetric care position or somethin' like that. But no, they apparently have just one person (or several, I'unno how many lactation consultants the facility would employ) that handles it in particular, which is... interesting? I guess. Helluva' job title, though.

As a Nurse (Lactation Consultant), you will:
Promote breastfeeding and assist mothers in reaching their own goals for breastfeeding; develop and implement standards of care and guidelines for assisting breastfeeding mothers in all areas of the organization where they might be served.
Plan, oversee, and coordinate patient, family, and staff breastfeeding education activities in coordination with the Chief Maternal Child Nursing Services.

Started a new job this morning - showed up on time (half an hour early, even - traffic in this town is so screwed up right now that I'm amazed the nonresident UT students can even find their way off campus), was put to work with an absolute minimum of training, did quite well, and came home to a call from the temp service telling me that the company "didn't think I was a good fit" and that I was not to come back tomorrow.

If you're too competent, then they'll think you're too confident for temp work and either leave soon or expect decent pay/conditions before too long.

They want that sweet spot of competence where you won't literally set the warehouse on fire, but also will make enough mistakes that you're too non-confident to go "Hey, I'm a good worker, where's my respect?!"

It was supposed to be a permanent position - virtually nobody does their own hiring anymore, relying on temp services to do all the work for them.

It does not agree with my perception of Lawful Good at all.
