Reminds me of this guy. Lawful Evil god that basically nobody -- including the god itself -- is entirely cognizant is LE. Part of the setting's pantheon of Light (i.e. the metaphysical "good guys"). Has Lawful Good worshipers, even :V

Part of his sphere is duty.  How does this manifest? Duty to serve the law? If so, then the previous about sending another paladin to kill him with a legal writ of execution for his murderous rampage is apt.

There's a sequel I found. Bard gets alchemist back by poisoning his rage mutagen, which kills him in a battle.

A potion of gender change would have worked to equal effect, and been more in-cannon. (would still require rule bending, since that is not possible to brew with vanilla rules. The effect is vanilla, but there is no formula.)

Either genderchange the bard, or genderchange the maid.

But I was thinking more the consequence for failed transformation that genderchange effect has-- null gender is a possible outcome.

A gender nullified bard would have solved the problem permanently.
