I don't often change my avatar. Probably the only times I would change mine would be if I get bored of it. As for personality, my avatars could reflect my general mood as well.
I'm sure the occasional guy on dial-up appreciates the 1.15-meg avatar, for that matter. :P
I guess if they pay attention to my avatar as it loads, it should be going at it's normal FPS (according to the original video) at that rate. After all, I had to boost the FPS by 16x to fit it as a 500-frame maximum avatar (ended with closer to 300 frames (296 according to image info)).

I like my avatar, it fits me. And it's ironic, but I wasn't even thinking of the irony when I picked it.

I can usually tell people apart by their avatar. It's a convenient and quick way to tell people apart. When someone doesn't have an avatar, I just glance at their name. Really though, they help people be more recognizable, and it also gives a bit of insight to what they like and stuff like that.

I enjoy my avatar, I think it shows an acceptable amount of similarity with by name.

I really just have this blurry thing because theres no non-multiplayer Patapon 3 I know about yet, thus no personal in-game screenshots to crop from.

The Dwarven king of Delve Deeper seemed like a fitting avatar for this forum. Especially given his somewhat whimsical nature, possibly a reference to DF nobles wanting pants made out of magma and the like?

I never use avatars.  I keep them turned off, as well as sig images.

It's because I'm here from work a lot.  But also because I personally find them annoying and think they take up space...  Mostly because of the work thing though.  So I've never seen any of your avatars and I go by name alone, and sometimes sig and forum subtitle.

Iunno, am I recognizable without one?

S'pose. FYI my avatars are all one-eyed creatures from video games.
