My disguise was perfect! How could they have identified me as a scientist after I dyed my lab coat?

I go with them unresistingly and ask for details on what they need me to do, what I will be given to work with, the time-frame for it, and generally what's going on.

Keep my gun at the ready, but follow them to where they go. Perhaps pick up some scattered debris on the way.

Design a high-tech rifle.

[6] Fuck that shit, you're building a high-tech rifle! [Power:4] You should be able to punch nice holes in people with this. [Size:6] Dear god is it supposed to be a rifle or an artillery gun? Good luck moving that thing around... or actually hitting people with it. [Functionality:6] Your excellent, high-tech design ensures the cannon will never, ever malfunction or jam. [Fuel:3] The 'bullets' need a normal amount of metal to be constructed. [Rate-Of-Fire: One-Shot] It can fire one 'bullet' per turn.

Punch a hole in the bottom of the cake shell and carve a pair of eyeholes out. Wear it like a hat and stroll into the crowd. I hug the person next to me, whoever it happens to be.

[6] You bash your head through the bottom of the shell and carve a magnificent mask into it. You then proceed to carve the rest of the cake into the most beautiful hat the world has ever seen and walk into the crowd on the station. Those nearby unfortunate enough to see it fall on their knees and weep in joy. [4] To cheer them up, you hug the nearest one. [2] He hugs you back, but then tries to grab the hat! [5] The man tears the hat off your head and then makes a run for it. Thief! After him!

Follow Ludd.
Keep my gun at the ready, but follow them to where they go. Perhaps pick up some scattered debris on the way.

[5] You follow Ludd and his friends, walking up the tunnel network. After what seems like an eternity, Ludd stops the group at a normal-looking tunnel wall. A sheet of metal is sitting against the wall. [3] After some struggle, Ludd and his men take the sheet off, revealing a long, dark tunnel that has apparently been dug into the rock. Ludd climbs in, motioning you to follow. You see strange symbols and paintings on the walls. [6] Tor picks up a ton of scrap metal as you are walking.

A Little Scrap Metal increased to A Lot of Scrap Metal!

I go with them unresistingly and ask for details on what they need me to do, what I will be given to work with, the time-frame for it, and generally what's going on.

[6] You ask the soldier what he wants you to do, convincing him of your loyalty in the process. He relaxes visibly.
'Well, truth to be told, I'm not entirely sure. We've got a VIP of somekind on the way, and we need the train back online. Council bastards overran the nearest security center, and we've lost contact with Command. So we have to manually restart it and get out of the city. Thing is, all the engineers died in an ambush a couple blocks from here, which is why we need your help.' he says, as you and the rest of the soldiers move down into the train, looking for hostiles.

I follow the guards down there, creepers murdering scientists definitely have loot.

[1] You try to follow the guards, but crash into another person in the crowd and fall over. [3] He remembers what you did to that guard and doesn't do anything, though.

Clear the area.

[3] Perhaps a bit over-cautious, the soldiers only move into the next carriage.

Move it!

[1] The hooded men seem to be afraid of the next compartment, where the train control center is.

While still following the soldiers, I create a simple railgun and enough ammo for three turns of shooting.

I should have borrowed computer parts from somebody. I can't make a proper suit of powered armor or a shield generator without them, and I do not believe that now is the proper time to loot the train.

Taric, I'm sorry, I'll stop talking about the size of your... weapon, now. It's just... double entedres are fun!

Walk along, and examine the symbols while doing so.
Continue following Ludd, while again attempting to brainstorm up some hoverboot plans.

[Tor:2] You stumble along, but fail to decipher any of the symbols or writing on the wall. [Doc Fuzz: 1] You think about hoverboots so much your head begins to ache. Oww. [3] You continue deeper into the tunnel after Ludd, soon arriving at a larger chamber. More of Ludd's men stand guard there, eyeing you suspiciously. Ludd leads you through the chamber into yet another narrow tunnel. A large, round chamber awaits at it's end, with a table in the center and a strange glowing machine at the far end. This chamber is even more full of symbols, some of which may have been drawn with blood. Ludd urges you to go in, and you do. [3] You head over to the machine, but can't figure out what it is. [4] You suddenly realize Ludd and his men have blocked the only way out, dragging a heavy metal door close behind you. Umm.

Doc Fuzz: Headache (-1 to all rolls next turn)

While still following the soldiers, I create a simple railgun and enough ammo for three turns of shooting.

[2] You fail to create anything, and follow the soldiers in silence.

Jump on the thief, tearing the hat away from his head. Equip it, slapping is wrist for his absurd theivery.

[5] You leap after the thief, crashing into him and bringing him to the ground. The hat rolls away, and you snatch it back. [5] He growls like an animal, and [Dodge:4] tries to throw a punch at you, but you grab his fist and bring it back to the ground. [3][3][Damage:3-1=2] You slap his wrist in return, bruising it a little. You put the hat back on.

Magnificent Hat added to Inventory!

Get into a train carrage, that seems to be where the troopes are headed.

[5] You walk into the carriage where Nirur and the troops are. The lead soldier turns, trying to tell you to leave, but his face pales when he sees the size of your gun. [6] You easily convince him to let you tag along. He keeps admiring your massive weapon.

keep going, directing them to follow the big cannon tracks.

[4] You stagger after the troopers, still a bit dazed. You soon find the troopers and say something about a big cannon. The troopers assume you're talking about Taric's gigantic equipment.

Background Roll: [5] More city troopers rush inside the aboveground part of the station, carrying a bewildered-looking man in a suit.

Let's go!

[6] The troopers charge through the next compartment, and finding it empty, kick the doors open to the next, and then the next. The three scientists can barely keep up. [3] They enter the train control center and, finding it mostly unharmed (except for the navigation computer Tor wrecked), order the scientists to get the train back online.

What's that noise?

[2] The hooded men still won't go inside, hearing the voices of the soldiers through the door.

Hey guys, what were the chances a guy named after (Ned) Ludd would betray you? 'Cos Ludd was such a friend of technology and inventors.
