Both look good to me, although no way in hell I track down every little thing.

Also, are we still using the 32 point buy, and max HP first level with average after?

Yes, remember it does even, odd, even, odd.

I still have to edit in whatever we replaced spellcasting with.

Hum. Do you remember what that is in anyway?

Can we have some extra experience points for item crafting?

That's a odd question. And the simple answer is no.

The long answer is fuck off.

The longer answer is maybe.

What did you want to make?

Edited magic items a bit. Magic bracers with constant Mage Armor is so much better than stupid bracers of armor. I also now have a pretty much constant +5 bonus to Initiative and Survival (and one knowledge skill) because of my Primal Intinct thing (I hope a belt is good enough body slot affinity).

Roight. Any magic items not right out of the book I would like a run past me first. Should all be fine and all, we all know the rules, but I would at least like to check.

Since Myth Weavers is down right now (or seems to be) and I need to sleep, I will check tomorrow, but if you could make a small write up on what your custom items do, slots, and costs that would be great.

Okay, I only have two that aren't out of the books. My other 3 are in books.

List:
Cloak of Charisma +2 (In book, obvious effect) 4000 gp
Memento Magica 1st level, x2 (In a book, I think RotD. Basically Pearls of Power for spontaneous casters) 1500 gp each

Bracers of Mage Armor
1st level spell, 1st level caster, 2000 gp. Constant Mage Armor effect.

Belt of Primal Instinct
3rd level spell, 5th level caster, 1 charge per day, dragonblooded only (or similar), price TBD by you, but I assumed 4000 (without restriction is 5400) Primal Instinct is in Dragon Magic.

Found it. Mythweavers is down, but I have the text for the 'voice of the wilds' ability there in my notes. Want to make any adjustments before I re-update the sheet?

Okay cool.

Here is a tentative thing I can do. What do you think about balance? Obviously you will only gain level depended things as you take things that add to your ranger spell casting level.

You lose spell casting.

At fourth level you gain: Voice of the wilds. (What we had earlier.)

At fifth level you gain DR/- Equal to 1/5 your level (Max 5)

At six level you gain fast movement 10 (as a barbarian)

At 11th level your animal companion advances as a druids companion rather then a rangers.

Better to spend 7000 on bracers of mage armour and shield, or just 4000 for the shield alone, it is great for two-handed or two-weapon fighters and is cheaper than an animated shield and even keeps the casters safe from surprise magic missiles. But the full mage armour + shield version is wonderful for monks and duelists and anyone else who is contractually required to forgo armour...

There is a cost, the lowered caster-level is more vulnerable to dispelling, but basically it is just an easy way to get a discount...

But mostly I would trade in my quicken spell for craft wondrous item and churn out some half-price gear. Probably +2 dexterity, constitution, wisdom, and/or strength items. Throw in some pearls of power and I could see some quite decent gear for my xp expenditure.

If we are fiddling around with new magic items. I would like to look into vest of resistance(a real item from a splat-book), vest of strength, mantle(cloak) of health(constitution). And if I craft items for other people, I may be able to get the mithril full-plate I wanted....

The body slots are here and the affinities are here. It is interesting to note that there are 15 entries in the affinity list and 11 entries in the slots list, apparently it is important to note that a shirt has different affinities to a vest...

Haha, just now realized I forget to add in my human bonus skills and feat. I feel silly.

Speak Language is a class skill for me. I shall now proceed to speak all the languages. All of them. (I put 4 points into Speak Language, hehehe)

Oh, and my forum name's been changed to ECrownofFire. Just so you know.

Can you PM me the spell Primal Instinct? Other then that, your stuff looks good.

Found it.

You good with it? Cause I still am.

I am going to give a no to the extra exp for now, cause we don't have a real way to tell how much you should have, but if you want to use some of the exp you have now for crafting before the game I am okay with it, and I will do use the exp tables by the book, so you should get the flow effect and keep up sorta if you want to be a crafter.

Edit: Also, I am waffling on the letting you get away with specific requirements to lower cost. I mean, it does not really make sense (other then for the plot items) that you could even get a item that only works for a dragonblooded, I mean damn man, you might be the only dragon/human mix in the world right now.

Well, I imagine it would screw him over if he got Polymorphed. Still can't access mythweavers, but I'll try and get that to you today.

I always figured limitations would cost more to make and be very limited to buy. Generally when someone makes a device limited in use it is from an explicit desire to avoid anyone else getting it...

Of course, discounts for something being spell completion or spell trigger make some sense, you cannot use them unless you have the ability already.

Maybe Sorcerer only? Spell Completion trigger works too. Or maybe we found a crafter in the goblin city that made it for me :P

Whatever you decide, you're the DM here. I can always just borrow 1400 from someone. Or just not get one of the Mementos.

Yes. Sorcerer only. It makes it cost even less and it makes sense.

3780 for it I guess.

Also I am thinking the belt is not a appropriate slot for it, as it specifically targets instincts. Much better would be a head (Headband, Helmet), shoulders (Cloak, cape, mantle), body (Robe), or hands (Gloves) slot.

Also: RAM vest of resistance? Is that the same as a Robe of resistance only... A vest?

Cool, I'll slap it in as... gloves then.

Hurrah for slapping prefixes onto magic items. Sorcerer's Gloves, hehehe.
