I think the fact thats its a vanilla server is the main draw (probably the only one, too), Jay.

I don't actually mind, it's the only Bay12 server I've found that I have liked, it has a nice atmosphere compared with the others. When the server is up and I'm playing on it I really enjoy myself.

What.

Augh, do you want to have all your work destroyed, and to be killed over and over again until it stops being funny? Go to any survival-type game any you'll see the same thing. Griefing (including repeated killing of people) gets you banned. We are no exception. The ops see you grief, you are gone permanently.

Even if you do want that on yourself (hey, if you're a masochist that's your choice I guess), it doesn't mean everyone else wants that too.

I enjoy the vanilla part of it. Its raw Minecraft, I have to work for what I do, and there is no (And I hate this mod more then anything else) elven pansy-ass economy system.

I hate that its down, and I wish it would change a lot less often. Although I hate servers that keep a map so long that it you have to walk three days to be alone.

As for greifing, I don't like it. However, it does add another element to the game (Defense) . Planehacked doesnt even have this problem, there are 0 greifers. I can trust the community here.

On a unrelated note, I just tried out head's server. I asked why there was so much water (They had like 10 million waterfalls flowing from random spaces in the air) and the first thing I get told was "leave the server." Planehacked, I need you.

Anyway, i though of making a sorta backup vanilla server, but then remembered I only have a laptop. I doubt that would work now (it did for creative, but creative is much simpler).

A person does not need to be a member of our community to be on the server.
You might not have had the personal experience of being griefed (yet), but I can tell you right now, that number is not zero.
Jaycraft's server mod (hMod) has saved us from innumerable griefers (though one or two have made it through our main blocks, they've never stayed for long :V).
I'm sure they've been around on Planehacked too.

I am also aware.
I have been greifed. This is not my first server. If I remember correctly, the first server I ever joined was yours.
I am not so sure about that. I have never seen any greifed structures before. There may have been some items tooken from chests, but seeing as I have only seen about 10 unique individuals on Planehacked, I can assure you that the server is rarely, if ever, greifed.
