Good news! We bought the new server and UPS! We will set it up with some linux in the next couple of days, and we should be up and running with the upcoming mincraft updates.

Zeno utterly crushed you in the huge tower department. I made the beginnings of a lake-surrounded fort of some kind then ended up indecisive. I'll probably hold onto this just in case of future lack of Planehacks

Do you mean that we replaced the dirt with stone, put some more torches down, built a roof, a central staircase, a wheat farm, a tree farm and a cactus farm while getting about a large chest of cobblestone and loads of iron?
I don't really see how that's "ruining everything". You said I could "live" there, so I just did everything to make it safer.

You said that we would need a tree farm. Building a normal farm and a cactus farm, too is just the logical conclusion. And dirt isn't really a good material if a creeper is trying to kill you.

Are people aware that the actual Planehacked server is up and running and behaving far better now at the IP 71.197.77.6?

Also, Jay, I just read your post up there. Just wanted to say that I don't go to your server thread and bad-mouth it all the time. Knock it off.

And regarding mods- we're looking at a very light Bucket mod implementation when that becomes available. Really the only thing I want to restrict is forest fires and creepers cratering the surface all the time. Otherwise, the intent is to make it behave like minecraft, and just minecraft. Maybe better chat tools. That's it. If you like magic runes and shopping and NPCs giving you quests and flying mounts, go play Wow.

Back to more pertinent topics, we are probably going to change to some other DNS service. Then we'll be officially back on line.
